Very Annoying Commercials

I don't know if any of you watch ESPN on a regular basis but if you do, you've probably noticed the disgusting number of commecials for their new show "TILT".
I'm already sick of the show and I haven't even seen it.
I don't think these people know the definition of the word "overkill".

Locally there's a Time Warner cable commercial featuring Vanessa Carlton intoning "Tiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmeeee, is on my side, yes it is . . ." First off, the commercial is being played over and over and over again (I will protest by continuing my DirecTV subscription!) and, while I have nothing against her, her singing in this particular case could not be more lifeless or boring. Argh!

Any commercial for McDonald's gets on my nerves. If I hear "bah da bah bah bah" again, someone's eyes are going to get gouged out.

Another Annoying One

Isn't it strange that Dr. Pepper gets celebrities to do commercials that include the line "Be you, nothing's better, Dr. Pepper".
Why is that Reba McIntire(sp) and Smokey Robinson are telling me to be myself??

I've stopped watching TV, for the most part. What I can't stand is that you are watching some show, and just when it gets good, or about to show something you've been wanting to see, oh, it's time for a commercial. Drives me nuts. I don't want to be bombarded with commericals telling me how nice a Cadallic is, or why I need Preperation H, or how great cold tablets are.

On the road, I've retreated to listening to the classical music station. Not that I like classical music all that much. But the classical music station does three things that I appreciate so damn much. They don't repeat songs over and over and OVER, they don't stop the music twice an hour (for twenty five minutes at a time) to listen to commercials, and the DJs aren't annoying. Now if only the mainstream radio stations could do that for me.

A - MEN!!!! I hate those fucking dumb ass commercials so much that I've seriously thought about tracking down the slimy 40 yr old bastard who created them, and feeding his carcass to my dog in pieces. This whole exploitation, pop-culture, rap-genre "I’m lovin' it" bullshit has to cease. Btw, and I don't know if most of you realized this, but "I am loving it" is an anagram for ailing vomit, but that's a different discussion, entirely.

It's like they're saying that McDonalds, a corporate entity synonymous with all things American, only sells food to people who speak in broken sentences, with a poor vocabulary, who play basketball, and dress like idiots. Die McDonalds!

Even though you're undoubtedly being sarcastic, your post brings me to another point. To quote Mike Roberts, the president of McDonalds USA, "Our 13,500 U.S. restaurants are uniting behind this new brand message and energy. We are focused on bringing the i'm lovin' it theme to life not only in our advertising but also for every customer who visits our restaurants. This world-class marketing strategy is the latest element of our overall plan to continue revitalizing McDonald's for our customers through compelling food choices, great service and restaurant operations, motivating value and exciting new restaurant decors."

"Restaurant decors"? Who the hell eats restaurant decors? Their food tastes like horseshit, and their answer is to redecorate. Their marketing goal was simple: cheapen people's cultural identity by using focus groups to target ethnic stereotypes, and that's purely deplorable.

Yeah, like that goddamned clown is so "down" with their customers, all they had to do was buy off some rap artists, and voila', Ronald is all G-money now. Pathetic…

McDonalds commercials have always been annoying.. All the way back to that "Put a smile on" crap which I remember from when I was little....

Coke is also doing that "Let's take advantage of 'urban cool rap style' to sell our crappy product!" thing...
