Cool idea - but your site is ruined by that annoying floating pop-up and the intro page on geocities free hosting with the annoying side ad bar.

Put your site on a decent cheap host with your own domain name and you might be on to something.

Well if you would go to the site and use Mozilla firefox or Netscape 7.0 you would not get pop ups because those 2 browsers have pop up blockers.

The problem is PC users always want to use that sick out dated browser called explorer. (YUCK)

Also I use Mac computers and we don't get pop ups like you PC users do. One more reason to SWITCH to Mac.

However, I have been told by some PC users that if they use FireFox or Netscape 7.0 with pop up blocker built in, they don't get the pop ups.

So my suggestion is to get those browsers and put down a toy like explorer browser and come to

One other thing, the annoying pop ups are not even geocities. I just use geocities as the COVER PAGE. The problem site is AIMOO. I just link the cover page of geocities to my site AIMOO. Geocities is a free page that has NO POP UPS what so ever.

Again, even the pop ups on AIMOO are not even a problem if you use FireFox or Netscape 7.0. Your chances of getting any pops even decrease if you use a Mac computer

umm geocites does have popups...they come in the right top corner and you can close them.
there is a simple java script to stop them tho
so then you get adless webspace for free :D

They could be cruel add a Song Lyrics/Poetry section here and somewhat steal your (done before) idea. But i doubt they will, so best of luck to you.

Huh? What are you talking about? > 95% of all PC users use explorer - it's the standard. If your site is crap on explorer - then it's crap period.

I tried Firefox it to check it out and quite frankly i hated it - it seemed clunky, slow and didn't display pages correctly. I erased it. No way would I use that crap. Maybe has better security, but I've never had any security problems with explorer.

You can get hosting for a few dollars a month - that plus a better color scheme, phpBB board & you could have a really great site. But hey if you want a site that never goes anywhere - that's your choice. I'm a songwriter - and your site would hold some interest, but there's really no way I could stand that site for more than 2 seconds - way too annoying and hard on the eyes.

1 you can't create tabs with it
2 looks ugly

4 Sluggish because there is no updates for it. The last update was like in 2001 or something.

Hey - you posted it here, presumably for an opinion - I gave it. If you don't like my feedback - tough luck. It's your site - do what you want - who cares what my opinion is. Post it on a web design board for feedback - 100% certain the feedback will be the same.

Explorer may be all those things, but I also hate to tell you - it's what everybody in the world uses - so get used to it. Your crying about how bad it is won't change that. I have no problem with explorer - works fine for me & millions of others.

Unless you're using Lynx on your own build of Linux, shut the hell up. Everybody knows Macs are for the dipshits who don't even know how to install an operating system. The world uses PCs, the world uses Windows and explorer, and unless you can cater towards what people use, you're an idiot. Not to mention your site looks like shit regardless of the browser you use. A barrel of dead fish could do better. A man with a cock in his eye has better visual taste. The idea for the site is good. The content the guy has written looks good too.

It's a shame that some people when faced with honest feedback simply get all upset. In this case, turning it into a rant about how Explorer sucks. Like who cares if Explorer sucks - it's what people use and if your site looks crap on Explorer with floating popups and all that crap - then basically the site sucks.

It has nothing to do with criticism. I simply have a free site that has some pop ups as part of the deal. However, you are not giving it a chance and that is what i am mad about.

Using a Mac i get 1 floating thing on screen that is it. My pop up blocker in safari takes care of all other pop ups.

Mac is the best computer out there. It is more stable then any PC will ever be. That is why the Multimedia industry uses mac. THey dont have time to mess around with a JOKE spagetti style OS like windows. Movies and Music and art in general are all designed on a Mac. Because PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO LOAD the OS software back into their computers daily.

Mac is also revolutionizing the computer industry with great products.
1 ipod
2 30 inch flat screens
3 the new MAC MINI ( go to apple and take a look)
4 See through computers, etc. All by mac

Apple is creating new products while PC is still trying to figure out how to stop viruses.

Mac users are writing Music, making movies, writing novals, while PC users are playing solitaire and chatting and looking for porn

I run both OS. I have 2 macs and 1 PC computer. Hands down I would rather use my mac. I bought my first computer in 1998 which was a PC computer and for 2 years it gave me nothing but trouble. Being a musician I dont have time or effort to fix problems all day, I want something that is reliable. Hands down I would rather use my mac

I also don't want to sit here and fight anymore, I just simply say, YOUR LOSS. Ask yourself this, WHO IS CRITIQUING HERE AT THIS SITE? No one seems to have the knowledge to critique songs.

So again, if you want feedback, come to my site.

One other thing, YOU REALLY need to update the way you do computing. Get a damn new browser.

I own a recording studio and I use a PC just fine. The vast majority of digital recording is PC based, not mac based. Fact.

Like all Mac owners all you do is piss and moan about how great your computer is that has 1% market share. If it was that great people would be using it - they don't so keep your rants to yourself. It's just a computer, you act like Apple invented a cure for cancer. If you like Mac's and wacko browsers - great, good for you. Why does it upset you that 99% of people don't agree, and why do you get so worked up trying to convince others that they should switch to a mac just so they can view your crappy site?

All that because you got a bit of negative feedback about your site. If you weren't such a cheap skate and bought a domain and hosting and got rid of the garish orange - you could have a good site.

not sure why you say your site isnt crappy if you have a mac...take advantage of all that "power" and make a good site man.
but i will agree with you macs are more powerful for music and photo editing but like stated, 99% of the consumers dont care that much and PCs wok fine and i spend, lets see 0% of my time getting rid of viruses and what not because i'm not a moron getting it in the first place plus i use linux 99% of the time :p

Linux yuuuuuuuuck. THere is like no software out there for it. What do you do with linux? WHich brings me to the next issue WHICH linux? There is like a 1000 different linux os systems out there. With nothing you can do with it.

99% of people are pc users because Bill gates monopolized the market. People buy PC because they are cheap. Mac just changed that with the new Mac Mini. Go to apple.com and check out the new Mac mini for 500 dollars.

My site is not a bother to me because I have a mac. I get like NOOOOOOOOO pop ups what so ever.

Pc is so spagetti style of an OS. WHen I download a program in Mac it puts 1 icon in the application folder and an extention icon in the systems folder.

Pc when i download a program it puts 1000s of icons to that program all over the place in my hardrive. If i go and delete the program it says MAY EFFECT another prgram because it shares the same installer. Windows is JUNK.

WHen I delete a program in Mac my hardrive goes back to the same hard drive room that i had before i installed the program. WIth windows when I throw a program away it erases like only 2k. Simply because it put a ton of the program all scattered all over the place. Even full erasing never seems to work.

Pc is junk

Stop crying.

The mac, your site, your songs, whatever - they all deserve a Nobel prize. Happy now ?
