Dubya and dubious cronies are at it again.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A conservative black commentator has admitted to taking public money to promote President George W. Bush's education plan, which Democrats called illegal propaganda.
Television and radio personality Armstrong Williams told CNN that he took 240,000 dollars to flog Bush's No Child Left Behind plan.
***
If they were to trace the origin of the 240K; might it lead back to the taxpayer.
Was this act against a law or grounds for impeachment ?
There have been so many shining examples of leadership and ethics from w/in this administration.
Wouldn't be the 1st time they condoned manipulating the media or the American public.
***
O boy 4 more years of this kind of crap.:hitout:

Is this a SURPRISE to anyone?!?!?!......coming from a cold-blooded regime that would do ANYTHING, up to and including allowing planned terrorist attacks to take place in order to have an excuse to wage war and massively increase the Defense budget....up to and including the theft of a presidential election and what amounts to the absolute death and dismemberment of the democratic process in this country.......up to and including killing untold thousands of innocent people in a foreign land, if they think it will advance their Neo-Con agenda..............??!?

There is NOTHING so dishonest, unethical, reprehensible or inhuman that the soulless fucks currently infesting Washington would not stoop to doing it.

And the unholy triangle of Rather, Moveon.org and the democratic party gets a free pass on the forged document thing?

Yep, full retirement benefits and the sacrificial lambs fall on the sword to protect Rather's good name. Hell of a retirement.

Where Did the $240k Come From ?

The Department of Education last year handed over $240,000 of taxpayer money to conservative pundit Armstrong Williams.
He was paid to tout the Bush administration's No Child Left Behind Act in his newspaper columns and media appearances — all while pretending the propaganda was really independent and objective commentary.

Aww c'mon let's just forget it and throw a $40 million inauguration and celebrate 4 more years of this crap.

First of all, my understanding is that the 240,000 came out of a campaign fund for just that reason: promotion of the candidate. Secondly, the 40 million was product of private donations, not tax dollars.

The conservatives think liberals are the tax and spend party.

I have been watching this administration spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and spend.

That's a lot of typing to make a rather blind sighted, stupid point, Echo. What part of WE'RE AT WAR do you not understand? This spending is also part of securing a rather large number of contracts regarding oil while bolstering the future development of a larger security base. Keep yammering, nay sayer...

Nope..Dept of Education..

Unless proof that the order came directly from President Bush, then it's not ground for impeachment...Damn...
That leaves U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige holding the bag.
He is directly responsible for the management of the Dept. of Education, including how it spends taxpayer money and is now claiming it was legal.
