I know this should be in the Movie section, but I felt it would get more attention here.

As some/most/all of you know, the movie White Noise comes out in theatres today. It is a movie that focuses on the voices of the dead and how they try to communicate to us through electronic devices, also known as E.V.P. (Electronic Voice Phenomena). While flipping through the channels, I saw about 3 different shows on at once, all talking about if this is real, plus about the debut of the movie tonight.

I'd like to know how many of you plan to go see it...and what your take on this supernatural event is. Should make for some interesting discussion.

I won't be going to see the movie, because I'm not that interested in it. As far as the question of whether it is real, I don't believe it is. I do think that people listening to white noise may believe they are hearing messages. The human brain tries to extract information from random events, and is quite capable of fooling us into believing it has found something. A desire to hear a particulair message also plays a role in this.

The movie looks like it would scare the crap out of me....I will probably go see it for that reason.

The preview made me want to go see it, but after it premiered it received depressing reviews. I am waiting for friends' opinions after they see the movie.

I wont pay to see it in a theater but if it ever comes out on TV I might watch for fun.

I do not believe this is anything more than peoples imagination. Similar to seeing jesus in a pizza crust or Mary in the window fog.

If these people are dead and their phisical body is rotting away, how would their soul or essence actually speak? Not through a voice box and jaw and tongue manipulation.

We would not recognize their voice or smell or apearance because it would all be quite different.

I'm gonna go watch that tonight at 9.30pm with a friend! Looks interesting and it will probably scare the shiznits out of us!

Sorry to hear it disappointed you too...let's grieve together cause I would have expected more from a Michael Keaton movie.

If you like spooky stuff, Jenny, You won't like this film. I don't think spooky stuff is supposed to make you fall asleep...

is it really that bad?? you know, i clicked onto a sight about e.v.p., and i had to turn it off. you hear these voices, and you can hear their words very clearly. almost too much.
if it's really that bad, then i don't think i'll waste my money.

Yes it does suck. It takes about half an hour for the first e.v.p thingy and then the rest is just cheap scares that prevent you from falling asleep. Didn't work on me though :(

Just borrow the DVD from a friend when it comes out on DVD or something...don't waste money like I did....I miss my 6 dollars!!!!!!!!

I remember when I was about 12 or 13 there was this weekly magazine that came out in the UK called the unexplained (or something like that).

The first issue had one of those thin floppy records (yeah back in the 80's) - that had recordings of these EVP things on.

It scared the living shit out of me. I remember that I really hard a hard time putting that out of my head at the time.

I'll probably watch the movie on DVD. The movie website tells you how to do your own EVP recordings. There is no way in hell I would mess with that.

i remember all those hidden messages in the records; i used to get spooked trying to listen to KISS! i'm tempted to try the evp thing. i'd probably chicken out though; i bought a ouija board once, but i threw it away, never even brought it in the house because i saw that movie "witchboard". i'm such a chicken!!

omg. I'm atthe website where you can hear EVP voices...these are SO fake...I'm sorry but they sound really REALLY fake..
