How is one to follow the bible "word for word" when the bible contradicts itself several times...
Also, when we discover life on other planets... won't this disprove the whole "god" theory?
I mean, surely the bible shoud have mentioned that god created life on other planets...

The only reference to what you ask that I remember in the Bible which could be interpreted in that way was the quote from Jesus where he said "my father has many mansions."

Of course a fair majority of Christian denominations don't subscribe to the bible being the absolute word for word truth.

Your getting human writtings mixed up with God, if there is other life {very possible} out there then that is Gods business.

Why would the Bible mention life on other planets when it doesn't mention half of the life forms that live/have lived on this planet?
