Big Ben says "Format your damn hard drive." Then reinstall Windows.

Ooooh, a Tripod clown! ;)

First, get anything you want off of your hard drive, if it's possible at all. (If you can't boot to Windows, read on.) Use your Windows boot disk (oh, what do they call those things..."Rescue disk", I think) and boot to either DOS or a command prompt (whichever is present). You'll get a prompt. At this point, you can get any documents and stuff off your C: drive by going to the folder you need (for example: "cd C:\My Documents"), and copy the things to a floppy or whatnot. When you're done there, type in "fdisk C:" and strike Enter. It'll probably ask for confirmation...type 'y' and strike Enter. It should take a while...then everything is gone from your hard drive. At this point, reinstall Windows. The manual that came with Windows should tell you how.

Be warned, though: I have no friggin' clue how manufacturers do things, and their Windows CD may not install Windows completely. You may have to buy a new Windows CD. Such is the price of being careless enough to get a virus like that.

Also, all this is assuming you've tried using your AV software to remove the bastard thing. Have you?

The computer doesnt even get to a point where I can do anything. The thing pops up as soon as my wall paper is showing that says there is a problem in blahblah.dll......and it just locks up.

Over and over and over.

Youve gone to far if your getting to the wallpaper, since every computer is different its hard to know what button will work HOWEVER, some point during the startup, if you push either one of these or a combination F2/F9/F8/CTRL F2 you should get a menu which lists about 8 different options to boot up, one of them is a command prompt.

All that is of course only if you dont have a boot up disk, you are also completely able to boot straight from the cd.

At startup (as the computer just turns on) you should have the option to enter setup (again button varies, usually 'delete')

In setup it will have the option of choosing what boot order you have, I believe its something along the lines of Windows/Cd/Disk or something like that. You need to swap them around using PGUP and PGDN untill the cd is first, and just remove the others.

Now SAVE and exit, and it should boot the WINDOWS CD (providing its in the cd tray). That will then let you repartition the drive which is another way of saying Delete everything. Id stick with FAT32 if you use any older programs, if not go with NTFS.

Thats not the greatest way of explaining things, but im not officially technical, i just have done it so many times you get used to it.
