Reggie White passed away today. He will be remembered as a great player for both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers. Even more importantly he will be remembered as a great man who lived his faith. He always lived up to the high expectations we have for sports heroes. He didn't showboat or taunt other players. He didn't find it neccessary to dance on other teams logos. He was a fine human being, and will be sorely missed.

He said some silly things, but he was still a great player. And without him the Pack probably don't get to the Super Bowl. Definitely will be missed.

I really dont know too much about Reggie White the man, but Reggie White the defensive tackle for the Eagles and Packers was just about the toughest and best defensive lineman in the history of the game.
I feel really bad for the family to have to always remember his death around Christmas time, as they are devout Christians. RIP Reggie. Condolences to the White family.

He was a Christian, Borg. An ordained minister. He spent his career witnessing at every available chance.

some of those knuckleheads in the league today could've taken notes from reggie white on how to be a team player and how to make a positive contribution to the league.

The man was a bigot. Hell of a player, but he was homophobic and hated Hispanics and Asians. He also failed to give a low-income school a donaiton he promised them (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1708287). The tendency these days is to ignore the bad things when someone dies and focus on the good things, but it's getting a bit ridiculous in Reggie White's case. Maligning the dead serves no purpose, but we can't magically forget that Reggie White was incredibly bigoted.
