Overdose: "That’s too bad. Because a man marrying a women who is infertile, is the same as a man marrying a man…in terms of creation. They both can’t reproduce. Period."
It's so much different then that. You're really confused. Maybe if you stopped being shallow and tried to look at the bigger picture than at the small details than you would see that homosexuality is a bad thing

Overdose: "Thanks for your kind and considerate words. You know you could potentially get banned for using such harsh insults? Not to mention all of your little pictures that went along with your insults."
I'm glad you saw those pictures. I think they took them out. What a shame.

Your mode of argument is that of a five year old.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Five year old; "Broccoli is BAD!"
Adult: "What does that mean? Why is it "bad"?"
Five year old; "It's BAD because it's YUKKY!"
Adult; "But we can't all just accept that it's "yukky" simply because you think it's yukky. Why do you say it's "yukky"?"
Five year old; "Because I don't like it!"
Adult; Ok. Why don't you like it?"
Five year old; "Because it's BAD!"
I love how you wasted your time making a whole scene of a kid not liking broccoli. I'm shure that I have posted a little bit more about homosexuality than "it's yucky".
sorry, but experts now believe that a predisposition to be homosexual develops during the 4th or 5th month of develpoment. there is a book called human sexual behavior, written by dr. king, that explains it in detail.
it also explains that children, as early as 4 or 5 (i think) are sexual beings (not saying they're interested in sex).
Okay, it's not proven that people are born gay. But it's also not proven that people are not born gay. I was merely throwing out possibilities, not saying what is proven.
Maybe if you read my previous post in this thread you would see how that is not true.
You've got to be joking with this shit, FT, for even YOU are above this overly simplified, ass-baggery. A child's opinions are just that: a child's opinions. Some kids don't like broccoli. It doesn't make broccoli bad, it just means they don't like to eat it. The funny thing here is the comparison between broccoli and homosexuality. In one instance, we all know broccoli is packed with vitamins, so parents try to force feed it to their children. In your estimation, homosexuality is good for us, so we should all be forced fed the agenda. Good call, and good comparison, I might add...
Speaking of people being above the arguments they make, you're far above this one, Prae. You know damned well he doesn't want to force anyone to be gay.
It's not proven, we've already talked about it in this thread. It's a 'possability', but nothing has been 'proven'.
Borg, I think the "acceptance pushing" is omnipresent. From the mainstream media, to sitcoms and movies. For a group that represents 5% of the populous, it sure gets its share of media coverage. To me, that shows a societal predilection towards all things gay, and it's starting to piss some people off.
Really, the only mainstream sitcom I know of that has a main character who is gay is Will and Grace. Maybe you could count Roseanne, but it's rather old.
I'm not sure Ellen's sitcom was really mainstream. I watched it once in my life, and I generally like sitcoms. Her talk show bombed heavily, in any case.
Besides which, the mere presence of gay people on TV (oh no, horror of horrors, gays on TV!) does not indicate the presence of a conspiracy to turn the nation gay or anything like that. Such an idea is asinine.
Haters used the same excuse when the slaves were freed. When black men got the vote, when women got the vote, and when the equal rights bill was passed.
They screach about the "insert minority here" lovers and complain that it is being crammed down their throats.
They can't come up with any good reason for something not to change so they whine about it being forced on them.
Grow up. Quit hating people for what they are and get on with your lives. Granting gay people the right to marry will not interfere with your life one little bit. Find something worthwhile to complain about, like taxes or wars or school funding or something that truly will effect your life.
You might want to improve your reading comprehension skills a bit. She never said that the crusade to deny rights to gay people is about race. She said that the reasons given between the crusades to deny gay people of their rights and the crusades to deny black people of their rights were similar.
Ever heard of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Yeah, that was a bust. They tried to put that one on NBC, but it failed so it went to Bravo.
Also, Real World (it's entertaining, but they def push the gay agenda on here). I know its on cable and they can put on whatever they want, but it still goes into a lot of households.
So, you really have proven my point here, you are blind and therefore cannot see a television screen... but wait, you must be deaf too b/c you obviously can't hear the speakers of the TV either.
I'm going to give up on this argument, because A) you refuse to even consider what I'm saying, and B) it doesn't really matter. If you are using the supposed presence of a "homosexual agenda" to deny gays rights, then your logic skills could use some fine-tuning.
No b/c we don't force anything in there faces. Its always been a straight world, it always will be. Are you saying you can't see gay people pushing things in others faces just to make rediculous points??
No. How are they shoving it in our faces again? This still doesn't make sense. There are TV shows, and such with gay people. How is that shoving it in our faces? Why am I not gay?!
I'm quite tolerant, but I've just about reached my limits, and this is an area that continually tests my patience because of mainstream America's relentless pursuit of gay acceptance dosed with a side of infatuation. Don't try and tell me that you're not trying to force heterosexuality in my face. If you exclude gay people entirely from TV but think that a straight couple kissing on TV is A-OK, then you are pushing a double standard. And you ARE trying to push heterosexuality in my face.
Btw, it's spelled "ridiculous".
The only reason gays are getting media coverage is because they want to marry and also adopt kids, and for the most part, they can't. Once you let gay become normal, you'll see a gradual decline in the amount of media coverage they get. You'll end up never seeing "Gays blah blah" except on very special occasions, just like you never see "Blacks want to marry!" now on the news. Once you accept it, it will quiet down.
Its not a race issue. You can't control your color. Its about sex. You can control when, where, and how you have sex(how, when, and where you push other people to be aware of it also)
Can you control who you're attracted to? Because THAT's the issue. Not where people have sex. It's with WHO.
Similarly, being gay is abnormal, but you think they should never be on TV. You're talking out of both sides of your mouth, dancing around the fact that you just don't like gay people.
I can do that too. Let's allow you to marry an elephant. It's equal rights, right?? You have to draw a line.
When you can demonstrate that elephants are intelligent enough to consent to marriage and understand the ramifications of it, then I will support elephants' right to marry. Until then, no.
Watch Fox News for your news and schedule your TV-watching around the "evil gay shows". Or, use the parental controls on your TV to block out anything with sexual themes, you can do that with the V-chip. Or, watch only Fox News and stations like ABC Family, which do not have homosexuality. Or, make your own, no-gays-allowed channel...I mean, this is America, right?
Yes you do have to draw a line. It goes back to Vietnam when they were televising footage of the war. They were showing people getting shot in the head. Their has to be a line drawn w/ everything, otherwise things go out of control and their are no more rules.
You can't say "if you don't like it, don't watch it" for broadcast television. You can say that for cable though. Broadcast television is just like what you see walking down the street. Its public. That's why we have the FCC. I'm actually advocating the laws of this country.
