Bill O'Reilly Blasts Anti-Gay Fanatics
August 28, 2002
Gfn.com News
The right-wing host of the highly rated "The O'Reilly Factor" pulls no punches on his Fox News television show when he skewers Democrats, the ACLU and even gay issues.
But a soon-to-be published interview in the Advocate magazine reveals a no-holds-barred, surprisingly pro-gay stance from conservative talk show host Bill O'Reilly, whose popular show regularly trumps Larry King's in the nightly ratings.
O'Reilly's chief target of animus in the up-coming Sept. 3 Advocate interview are bible-quoting religious fanatics.
In the interview conducted live by journalist Michael Giltz in O'Reilly's Manhattan office, O'Reilly says the people who oppose the right of lesbians and gay men to be married, adopt children, serve in the military and generally enjoy all the rights and privileges of being tax-paying Americans are "fanatics."
O'Reilly also says using bible quotes to support their bigotry is "ridiculous."
