Barry Bonds has been using steroids. As a result of his use, he has been hitting homeruns in huge amounts. Some of baseballs most famous records have fallen (most HRs in a season) or will probably fall (most HRs in a career) to this cheater.

We havePete Rose on one hand, that has been banned from baseball and banned from the Hall of Fame for betting on baseball. He deserves that.

But the greater crime has been committed by Barry Bonds. Why is there no talk of banning players who use chemicals to enhance their performance? Why is there no talk of banning these players who will probably be shoo-ins to the Hall of Fame? And why isn't there talk of putting asterisks next to Barry Bonds' name in the record books??

Is this just another example of how our society's standards are degrading? Is it acceptable for athletes to use steroids and drugs to outperform others? What kind of message is this sending to our kids that are athletes?

Barry Bonds should be banned from baseball for LIFE. ALL professional athletes that are caught using performance enhancing drugs should be banned from pro sports FOR LIFE.

All you have to do is look at whats accepted socially now to see that every aspect of morality and judgement of whats right and wrong has fallen. This is just a product of that type of acceptance.

I think every single athlete that tests positive the first time for steroids and human growth hormone should be banned for life, making the cheating piece of shit forfeit his/her million dollar contracts and any record they may have attained along their cheating course.

I still can't get over how Roger Maris had to have the infamous * next to his record when he broke Babe Ruth's record, but Bonds, McGwire and Sosa....never was there a mention of doing such a thing, when they CHEATED by using steroids to break Maris' record!!! This is the greatest non-story I have ever seen. Why doesn't the media play this, is what I don't understand.

Maybe we should make the players of today drink like hell and smoke like a steam engine just to level the field. Isn't that how Ruth did it? What would the records be if the players of yesteryear had the training and equipment that our guys today have, excluding of course the steriods. Now THAT would be impressive. Just a humorous thought I had about making the breaking of a record truly mean the same thing as setting the record.

Mark McGwire & Sammy Sosa have NEVER taken ANY type of steriods. They broke Roger Maris' home run record FAIR & SQUARE. But I do agree with you about Barry Bonds. He's a CHEATING, LYING SCUMBAG who does NOT deserve ANY of his records.

How do you know what they have and havent taken?

Sounds to me like you just a little sour for Barry breaking Big Mac's record.

I have NEVER liked Barry Bonds. I hated him even before he broke McGwire's record.

Does that allow you the right to pass judgment on him?

I'm not passing judgement on him. I'm saying what everyone else is saying, that Barry Bonds took steriods & possibly lied about it to a grand jury. His ex-girlfriend has testified several times that he told her he had started taking steriods. He's guilty. Ban him from baseball & take away his records.

That is insanely stupid!!

If it is proven he used them, than action should be taken. Just as is with Mark McGuire.

Mark McGwire acted guilty as hell in front of that Congressional panel a few weeks ago. I would be very surprised if it were ever proven that he didn't do roids during his home run king tenure.
