With all the various message board sites around, what made you come to Allforums?

As for me...
When Andrea was away at Band Camp....I was sitting around the house very very bored. I decided, I wanted to some political messaging..so I searched something like Politics Message Board or something, and Allforums was the one that looked the best.
It seemed simple, and the screennames didnt bug me, lol.

I came here because I wanted to find a place to find new people to talk to. I thought it would also be a good place to find people to give me advice when needed. Also, I tried to get on another message board, but you had to send them a letter by snail mail to join, and I actually did, but havent heard from them, and it's been probably a month. So, I did a search on yahoo for other message boards, and I found this one.

I had found another forum that I tried to like & tried to get some different things going, but it was full of old-acting housewives & their beaten down hubbies, none of whom really wanted to get into anything substancial. One of them suggested in an email that AllForums might offer more of what I was looking for. I came, I saw, I participated.

After getting banned from many right-wing forums (they can’t handle the truth)…I decided I wanted to find one that had various viewpoints. So I did a search for “political forums” And allforums came up. The name was interesting, so I went. When I looked around allforums, it seemed fairly split, so I joined.
I love it here. I love each and every person here. We all bring various opinions to this forum, and that’s what makes it great. The best forum on the net!
Love you guys!

I don't exactly remember how I found it - probably by Google. It was around 9-11-2002 and after having seen many documentaries bout 9-11 I wondered how american people felt one year after this tragedy.
I thought it was a good idea to discuss politics with americans, since it seems there is a lot of misunderstanding between our countries.
In fact it was a bad idea - I never could get away with that addiction then ;)

I was on another message board that was run by 2 brothers and well, they thought they were Admin Gods.... NOT . I met great people on there and was a long term member of 2 yrs but I left cause I had enough. I did a search and so far so good. I also visit The No Flame Zone too !

I was messing around with the Google Groups and the Yahoo Message Boards and was getting irritated with the formatting.
I thought, "there's got to be a better way."
So, I did a search in either Google or Yahoo to look for forums that covered the topics I was interested in and landed here.

I wanted to join a very general discussion forum with good participation by a variety of people. Signed up for account for several sites and eliminated all but this one after a week.
I share my ideas occasionally but most of the time I use the forum to learn about people's views or ask questions.
Checked out a few sites and saw this on yahoo. I believe I stayed with allforums because people actually seemed to put some thought into what they had to say.
Some of the other sites people were pretty shallow.

Honestly don't remember. Maybe it was the color scheme... Am mostly an observer anyway, but its a great way to learn. :)

I used to post at the History Channel. But the moderators got too severe (several people got kicked off the boards, long story) and I posted at Galt's Gulch for a while, but I quit there. (another long story).
I found this website. I came here looking, at first, to do battle with liberal thinkers. But the more I'm here, the more I value those whose thinking is opposite of mine (and yes, I'm talking about YOU Overdose, god dammit! You too Vile!). I like debate. I like posting my thoughts. I like the rebuttals I get. It keeps me thinking, and it makes look for info every once in a while.
My only complaint is that we need MORE people of all political stripes to post here. Well thought out debate is a true treasure. BELIEVE IT!

It's the only message board site that the school's filtering allows. Everything is filtered here. Even yahoo...I swear...:( It won't let me go to CharmedScripts.tv :(
