Let me first say that I'm quite skeptical about Nostradamus and his prophecies, and that I believe his writings can be interpreted in any way that one wants. But it's still fun to read his prophecies and figure out what they might mean.
Here are a few of his quatrains that may refer to the war in Iraq.
Century III, Quatrain 61:
The great band and sect of crusaders
Will be arrayed in Mesopotamia:
Light company of the nearby river,
That such law will hold for an enemy.
The first two lines could refer to the occupation of Iraq by American and British forces, the majority of whom are Christian and are thus called "crusaders". The second two lines could be about the Abu Ghraib situation, with the "law" referring to POW laws.
Century IX, Quatrain 76:
With the rapacious and bloody king,
Sprung from the pallet of the inhuman Nero.
Between two rivers, the military on the left,
He will be murdered by a bald young man.
The "rapacious and bloody king" could obviously be Saddam Hussein, and the "two rivers" the Tigris and the Euphrates, which indicates that this quatrain could be about Iraq. The last line could be a prediction of Saddam's murder, possibly while the military is engaged in something that's "on the left" of something.
More to come...
