Once again only in far away Europe, the liberals are trying to steal an election and refuse to accept defeat.

Liberals really want to win and they would if it wasn't for all them people not voting for them.

Official results show a narrow victory for Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych though exit polls indicated challenger Viktor Yushchenko would win easily.

Mr Yushchenko told parliament: "Ukraine is on the verge of civil conflict."

In a statement before the session opened, Mr Yushchenko said he had won a "convincing" victory and called on nations to recognise him as the winner.

In their defense, in this case there was credible evidence of widespread fraud. Even Bush's envoy to monitor the election said so.

This is a nice story on the situation. The additional information available there by clicking on the fraud allegations may interest you.

Richard Lugar was the U.S. Envoy. He has stated that there was massive fraud on the part of the current government. I heard from another source that based on Lugar's official report, the State Department is considering not recognizing the new government. I guess that puts the Bush Administration among the "Liberals".

It is one thing to have election results a couple of percentage points different from the exit poll. It is another thing entirely to have results that differ by 30%. The people of the Ukraine know who won the election. They know how they voted. Maybe not overall, but in each town. They can talk to their neighbors. If the government is corrupt, they can overthrow it.

Why pretend to have elections? Just get a big crowd of people and take over the government.

Kerry would love to have done that.

OD, shut up. That's getting very annoying, any chance you have, you bring up the same exact thing that you said a few posts ago, a few threads away. It's a horrible conspiracy theory that should be investigated, and shut up about until the investigations are done. In the case of Ukraine, they've had countless complications, a few in which a candidate claimed that the opponent poisoned him. Fraud abounds, and is very evident. That is not so here, jumping to those conclusions show you as nothing more than a dumbass who can't stand losing.

Nope, I won't shut up. Take a chill pill, you just make me want to say it even more.

They posted a thread ON exit polls. I'm being on topic, and there is nothing you can do about it.

We're talking about Ukrainian exit polls. Rehashing is annoying, your credibility continuously drops, and you make yourself look like an ignorant fool. Keep at it, and trav may very well have a point.

Ukraine people are giving us lessons in democracy, by demonstrating massively and peacefully to reclaim their rights. They have obviously been stolen their elections - in some pro-govt areas, the participation rate was over 100% !
Even the Bush govt has acknowledged the fact that these elections were faked.

In Toronto Ontario on the Morning of October 24th, there was a peaceful demistraction talking about the Ukrainian Election.

Shows you how this seems to affect people a world away from there native home land.

My Mothers Family is Ukraomian, so i feel obligated to be in this talk.

Do you know on which side your family stands, and what they think about the election results ?

Today Colin Powell, speaking for the Bush Administration, announced that the United States would not recognize the announced results of the election. He cited the massive fraud perpetratrated by the current President. He said there would be economic consequences for the Ukraine if the election results are not reversed.
I guess that means that President Bush and Colin Powell are liberals.

In this case the conservatives want to keep their old brotherhood with Russia. Ukraine is where the Rus started. Liberals want change and Bush wants them to become part of EU weenies.

We want to win so bad that I question our honesty on claiming fraud in elections.

Powell challenged leaders of the former Soviet bloc nation "to decide whether they are on the side of democracy or not."

"If the Ukrainian government does not act immediately and responsibly there will be consequences for our relationship, for Ukraine's hopes for a Euro-Atlantic integration and for individuals responsible for perpetrating fraud," Powell said.

Another option would be to refuse Ukrainian entry into Euro-Atlantic organizations such as NATO.

The State Department confirmed Tuesday that it had summoned the Russian ambassador and discussed Ukraine. The Kremlin described the meeting as "unprecedented interference" in another country's affairs.

Come on old reb do you really think these elections were fair ? the previous regime is so corrupt it would do anything to be reelected in fear of being prosecuted if they lose !
