How the fuck does Tom Cruise get to be the Last Samurai?

It's like David Carodine and Kung Fu, or Tarzan of the Jungle. It's bullshit

I have it on DVD and I really liked it a lot. " although I found it rather strange that the US Calvery was used to train Japanese Soldiers"

I really liked this movie---I think it's because of all the historical things in it. I enjoy watching movies filled with historical content...somehow, I think that having a plot set in the past makes the story more interesting--especially when the movie portrays things that really occured in those times.

i just finished watching it for the second time, and i must say that i am a big fan of it. tom cruise isn't the last samurai, katsumoto is. and i find that how the movie presents the concept of honor.

It's ok for a big hollywood movie, some parts are silly like ninjas invading the samarai but still it's pretty good. I'd rather watch real japanese made samurai movies though.
