OK, I've wasted my time reading about 5 pages in this thread that have nothing to do with the topic, so if you guys just want to criticize each other can I ask you to start a seperate thread for that? Now back to the topic...

I'd sooner be castrated than refer to a homo union as a "marriage". I know that the bond I'll have with my wife is real marriage, and so will my God, and that's all the comfort I need.

Given your 2nd statement, why would you even be concerned about what a "homo union" was called by the government?

the problem is the pro gay marriage crowd of secularists see religious convictions as "only religious convictions". they say "other then religious reasons, what reasons do you have?" as if since they dont believe in it, its not a good enough reason. Its obvious to them there is no good reason not to allow anyone marry whoever they want. What reason could be given to them that would change their mind?

Its not a good reason by itself. Its fine to have religious beliefs, but there has to be a reason you believe something is right or wrong other than "because my religion said so". If your religion says homosexuality is wrong and you choose to believe it, then tell me what made you choose. Do you think its wrong just because the creator of the religion didn't like it, or did he/she say that its wrong because it does x, y, & z? "Because I said so" is not a good reason. So, tell us what is WRONG with homosexuality?

Well apparantly in Utah it is illegal to have oral sex... Now if they are enforced is a different story.

it's illegal in several states (here in louisiana, they're arguing it in the state supreme court- it's been illegal here for forever). it's also illegal in the military (i was in the navy), even between a husband and wife.

There are some crazy Antilust laws out there. Like in Indiana it's illegal for a man to have a visible erection in public, even if it is covered by clothing.
