I would just like to say that the moderation on the politics forum is pretty sorry. Posters joke about thread jacking because it occurs so often. Until your moderators take a serious stance about thread jackers, you will never have a serious forum. I also can't help but notice that most of the thread jackers on the political forum are liberals, and that the moderators are 80% liberal. Until you remove some of the bias on the part of the moderators, I doubt you will ever be able to achieve balance.

I would also like to point out that your most recent moderator, Vilepagan, makes it a point to agitate posters by correcting minor spelling corrections. Is that really the kind of behavior that you want from a moderator? I'm guessing you don't mind or don't care. Whichever the case, the immaturity is reflected in your forums. Whenever you allow people to act like jackasses, guess what? They act like jackasses. Welcome to allforums.

Well HaVok, I see no point in being diplomatic with Karankawa at the moment. He's repeated this lie 4-5 times in the past day or two because he's pissed off, and it's starting to get on my nerves.

The reason he claims this is because a few months ago in an incoherent post, he used the word "impressionism". Since I couldn't decipher what he was trying to say, I pointed out to him that impressionism is a style of painting. From the complaints I've seen, Karankawa doesn't want moderators as much as he wants censors to adjust the thread lines to his liking alone.

The guidelines I've been given about being a moderator were pretty much limited to policing for SPAM. Petty fights about thread jacking & throwing stones at one another aren't worth wading into. When things get lively enough somewhere, one of the moderators is bound to be on top of it, and believe it or not, we do communicate with one another.

This is just another roadhouse or a saloon on the yellow brick road we all are traveling at one pace or another. Don't get so cranked out of shape about words on a screen!!

Here is the latest example of Vilepagan's insults, and I'd like to point out that Mrs. Vilepagan was not addressed at all before hand. This seems to be a completely unprovoked attack. Would I be allowed to directly insult Mrs. Pagan here on allforums as Vilepagan does? Let me know if this type of behavior and posting is okay to do, because trust me, I am completely capable of insulting every single post this fella makes. And by the way, Vilepagan, let me know if you are ever in the Houston area. I would love to talk with you about your posting style in person. As I said in my PM, I didn't think you made your insensitive remark about Borg's mom intentionally. I thought it was an honest oversight, and said so. I didn't have to let you know anything Karan, but I do take the job of moderating somewhat seriously. I am against censorship in principle, but we do have minors here, and occasionally people get a little fired up when they debate and say things that are inappropriate.

I took the time and trouble to send you a PM explaining my actions, which I satnd by, and I was very polite about it, yet you bring this PM up as an example of "unfair" moderating. YOU CAN! Go right ahead! I don't give a damn. As long as the insults are clustered around at least some sort of point, I don't mind. Insulting for the sake of insulting isn't allowed, but insulting when it's used in a post that can stand without insults is fine. In fact, it's a really good release valve for anger or, in your case, repressed homosexuality.
