I'm a grad from Alabama. I'm actually a big football fan, but like the roundball as well. Roll Tide and look foreward to UA-UK matchup this year. :hitout:

It's Shelton's final year.

Kentucky is always great, but this may be our year to really make a name for our b-ball program. Shelton, Kennedy Winston (all SEC), Davis, Davidson, and a 2 time mr. Basketball of Alabama freshman coming in to run the point. Hopefully we can outdo our elite 8 run last year.

How are you guys "UK" this year compare to last year? Also Silver Bullet, How is the BigxII and the Cyclones look this year overall? Don't get to see their games much here in Alabama.

I've got to root for the University of Wisconsin Badgers. We're going to be pretty good this year, but our weakness will be at point guard. We should still make a pretty good run at the Big 10 championship though.

We (Alabama) play you guys (Wisconsin) this year at your place. Should be a good game.

Yeah, I ruited for you all the way. Sadly you had to run into UCONN, or you may have even got further. It was an amazing post season.

We look ALOT better than we were last year, when we were the overall number one seed.

We have the top recruiting class in the nation with, the nation's top freshmen, Randolp Morris, along with our new point gaurd who I think is even better than Morris, Rajon Rando. Along with them is the number 8 recruit in the nation, Gaurd Joe Crawford, followed by number 24 Ramel Bradly. We also have a gaurd that transferred from WKU, Patrick Sparks, who is a junior with excellent defensive, passing, and long range shooting skills.

We play UNC in December and Kasas at home in January. Its going to be a very exciting year.

Wisconsin....bah!

I like their football team, but I had their basketball team, and I'll tell you why. Two years ago, when Kentucky beat Wisconsin in the sweet 16, it was a player from Wisconsin that purposely tripped Keith Bogans, making him injured in play against Marqutte in the elite 8...they stomped us wihtout Bogans.

I'm kinda new to this message board thing, so how do you split up parts of a previous persons post, or their quote, instead of using all of their quote? Also, how do I get an avatar? Thanks in advance.
But as for UK's non-confrence shedule, KU and UNC,,,,,,,Thats pretty rough. We have Wisconsin, Charlotte, and Temple I think. Wisconsin will be a tough win on the road, although we beat them fairly easily at home last year I think.

Wisconsin may be a different team than you remember last year. We have a much bigger front line this year. Keep an eye on a redshirt freshman named Brian Butch. He decided to sit out last year while working in the weight room. He's 6'11" and goes about 270#. He's amazingly good, and better for sitting out a year.

When you click the "quote" button on the side of a person's post it will take you to something like this. (this is if you quote this line)

In order to stop the quote you, pick a spot, and type [/*QUOTE][/B*]

Then when you want to start quoting again you can just copy and paste the [QUOTE*][i*]Originally posted by jerejerebinks[/i*]
[B*]

and then end it again with the [/*QUOTE][/B*]

(Oh, and leave out the *'s....that was just to keep it where you can see it)

Yeah, they are going to be huge games, along with the game at Louisville. Other than that, off the top of my head we have a lot of easy games. I like the way the schedule is made this year, based on all these Freshmen we have. We have the right mix of walk over games and big huge games, leading up into SEC Action.

See ya in Alabama on the 26 of Feb. ;)

Yeah.....I, of course, watched UK's pouncing of Coppin State on Saturday...and plan on watching much of the same tonight when we play Ball State tonight :D

I also cought the Duke @ Davidson game yesterday....although Duke won by around 14....they look very weak this year, for a Duke team anyway.

We plan to...with Louisville, UNC, and Kansas all on our schedule this year.

We have a really good chance of loosing 3 or less this year...I think the games we have a chance of losing are the three I have already mentioned along with Alabama and Mississippi State (and then possible upsets may include Tennesee and Florida)

your crazy if you think we are loosing to alabama your wrong about that missisippi state, kansas, and UNC your must not know too much about kentucky because you would know they beat the best and loose to the worst. i think you have to look back to the coach when that happens. Tubby needs to get the players prepared for little games as much as he does for big games. we will lose 2 games. Tennessee and Georgia

I said those were possibilities. There is a small chance we might lose them.

Are you still going to the UNC game?

OK, I have a question? Why are UK fans so nutty? I mean is there nothing else going on in your lives? Seriously - I can go to the store any day of the week any time of the year and I can find some fat dude wearing UK wear head to toe. Not that other schools don't have the same phenomenon, but living close to Kentucky I see the UK thing the most.

Kentucky B-ball seems to be as nutty as we (Alabama) are in football. Lionel, I am not sure exactly where you live, but try small town Alabama for example and you will find that your options of interests are more limited than say.....someone that lives in Boston (ie. Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins ect...) If they didn't have these teams, Boston College football would be the dominant interest. Often our high expectations of our programs may seem a bit unusual, but that puts the pressure on that is needed to be successful. I also suppose that teams that have great tradition also adds to the nuttiness.
As for the fat person thing; that is most likely that southerners have higher obeisity rates than other parts of the country. Also don't forget that most Kentucky fans are inbred fat, rednecks from hell. jk

Lionel, just noticed you are from cinncinnati, sorry I did not notice that before the last post.
Anyhoo, Eadsnoah.... you have no fear that you guys could possibly lose to UA, UNC, or UK?????? You must be joking. I can't deny that you are the better team, but we are not the same Bama team that we used to be years ago. But you obviously remember a couple of years ago when we came up to Rupp and whipped you guys, our Elite 8 run last year, recent SEC Championchip, and short span ranked @ #1. Just remember that any given night, anyone can beat you guys. Are you guys in the top 5?
I have no doubt that you guys are stacked this year, but remember that you are the marked team in the SEC. I truly think that you could lose to UNC, UL, UF and possibly us. Miss St. is overrated, UT is absolutely horrible (so why do both of you think that they pose a upset threat???), LSU is garbage, UGA is athletic but play shitty basketball, And Vandy is on a down year I think.
Come to think of it, there are only 4 possible good teams in the SEC this year. 1)UK 2)UF 3)UA 4)MSU maybe Correct me if I am wrong. RTR

Of course you could always concentrate on academics instead . . . nah.

Don't listen to me, the only thing my alma mater is good at is hockey.

On the issue of our crazyness for UK....I'm sure you see the same sort of things with Ohio State football?

On the issue of Miss. St, and UT posing a threat...my answer is simple. Roberts from St., and Lofton/McFaddon from UT....

They can turn it on at the right time....

HEY! Alabama is a top 40 public university my friend. Last year we had more Acedemic All Americans than Harvard.:hitout: Not really sure how all that works out, but nonetheless.
By the way Lionel, we will probably be playing you guys in the music city bowl. Looking foreward to it. And what is hocky again?

Just kiding bout the bama thing too. :p

Speaking of Notre Dame, How about the Willingham firing? It may be impossible to win like they used to with the 1) very tough schedule 2) Frigid, gloomy climate 3) High acedemic standards ect.......

Lionel, I figured I was right about your alma mater. The Badgers and Gophers have had some interesting and signifigant hockey series over the years. You guys still have the strangest basketball court I have ever seen however. That raised court, with the dropoff just out of bounds is going to kill someone someday.

Ill 2nd that ouch!

I wasnt completely disgusted at the players, because they had 3 or 4 chances to bring it within 3....and its a majority Freshman team playing a majority senior team....so all is not lost.

Coach Smith had some questionable substitutions that I didnt agree with.

Yeah, that game pissed me off too. Mainly because I expect the best team in the SEC to represent. But it's a long season and you will surely improve. Speaking of the SEC, we suck this year bad! Off the top of my head, here are some recent losses.
1. UNC over UK
2. FSU over Ole Sis
3. Cincy over Vandy
4. Wofford over Allbarn
5. UWV over LSU
6. Arizona (and a few others I think) over MSU
7. Illinois over Arkansas (understandable)
8. Miami (fla) over Florida
9. Ga Tech way over UGA
10. Many teams over UT
And probably many more that I missed.........................

Note: These are just the recent games that I have seen. It seemed like they all lost in one week. Crazy! Need explanations.
