From 1982 to 1988 the Democrats accused President Reagan of everything illegal, called him evil, stupid old, etc.
From 1993 to 2000 the same was done to President Clinton, and for the past 4 years worse has been done to President Bush.
None of it altered any of their decisions in any major way. If some minor decisions were affected, it was not worth the partisan division, hatred, anger or general nastiness.
Wouldn’t it be nice if for the next four years, no matter who the President is, we aren’t so knee-jerk. It’s American to disagree, but it has become such an automatic reaction that we’re not even listening before we complain.
Possible?
Who am I kidding?

If this board is a small snippet of America (and other countries) then I'm afraid it's unlikely.

I'm hoping for a clean election. While listening briefly to CNN throughout the day, I've not heard anything about any polling place hassles. Let there be a clear winner.

I got up this morning calm and happy this thing was over. For some reason I put on Air America "Morning Sedition". This idiot Mark Marin is literally screaming about another stolen election, Republican dirty tricks, etc. The President's second term is already being undermined and challenged before the facts are in. By the time I got to work I was angry again. This vicious circle is already spinning. Nothing is going to change.

Most of the democratic party is made up of individuals who have spent their lives crying about mistreatment in one form or another. To expect them to have grace in defeat is akin to pissing against the wind and hoping to stay dry. The President won the popular vote by over 3.5 million votes. I realize that the electoral college is where elections are won and lost, but to win the popular vote by such a large margin, and for there to be any doubt about whether or not the President recieves enough electoral points to win seems insane to me. Something is out of whack with our election process, IMO.

That seems to be true, unfortunately. My wife found this on one of her boards:
If Ohio goes Red, I really do hope they lose more jobs overseas. Suffer morons suffer.
And Florida? I guess the 4 hurricane messages from God weren't enough. sigh. You know that means locusts now. Or the raining down of toads. Whatever, it's well deserved.

Yet, Kerry directly contradicts you. He was eminently graceful in defeat. Frankly, it greatly surprised me, as I thought he would fight Ohio even though it looked pointless and classless to me. But he conceded when he should have.

Since when were the Democrats "my party"? I have no party. I shall register Independent when I turn 18. Both major parties disgust me with regularity.

This, I agree with as well. John Edwards makes me wanna barf. Is everything with that asshole a potshot, or is it just me??? He prances out on stage with the phoniest smile he could conjure, and couldn't refrain from being an ex-shyster for two minutes. He immediately threw in a Florida reference, and followed it up by stating that he wouldn't forget the voters. That could've been a verbatim quote from Gore in 2000.
On a side note, I bet that really comforted those people, ay? LOL. :)

Hey, if I we're gonna have all these republican bastards that I heard all day whining about fraud with the early exit polls, then you have to put up with democrats whining about fraud. At least they have a reason to whine since they lost...they have a reason to be upset. But some of the republicans I've heard today have been poor winners, which is 10 times worse than a poor losser since the winner should be happy, yet some of them are finding some reason to complain or rubbing the victory in other's faces. Poor winners can go to hell.
