"Senator Joseph Biden of Delaware has been asked by Mr Kerry to become Secretary of State in a Democratic administration, according to Kerry campaign aides."

Joe Biden, the diplomat who called his President "Brain-Dead" several weeks ago.

Libs, do you think this is the top guy available, or a reward from the party?

Biden? Not even close to being the best guy available. Don't know about your internet, but on mine I see that quote coming from the London Times, which is owned by the same guy (Rupert Murdoch) whose NY Post scooped the world with the front page headline that Kerry had picked Dick Gephardt as his running mate....

From "Delaware Online"

Biden criticized the administration's prescription drug policies and their impact on consumers. "He is brain dead," Biden said of the president. His comment was greeted with loud applause at the UAW Local 435 union hall in Cranston Heights but quickly drew the ire of Delaware Republicans.

More aid and comfort from the potential future secretary of state.

Should a deferment prevent a President from picking who he really believes are his best cabinet choices? Heck, the last PRESIDENT dodged the draft.

Like them or not, the current cabinet is far more qualified than prior cabinets. But in this sensitive time in the world, do you want to send Joe Biden out there.

How many have you spoken to? (You're not speaking on behalf of members of the Air National Guard, I assume)

I really really like Joe Biden. I think he or Bob Kerrey would make an excellent SoS. As long as we keep his Senate seat, i say go for it!

I hope he's as good as you say, but it worries when the most important diplomat in the world calls a world leader "brain-dead" (the fact that it's his own president only makes it worse).

Lets look at one of Bush's cabinet choices.....Attorney General, John Ashcroft.

He was beaten by a dead man in Missouri, prior to being chosen as AG.

The people of Missouri would have rather had a dead man representing them than Ashcroft, and Bush picks him to be the top AG in the nation.

Actually Ashcroft lost because a judge (possibly) illegally allowed certain urban area polls to stay open an extra three hours (many urban areas WOULD vote for a dead man over a republican).

Many in the GOP said he should challenge it, but he decided not to and told Mrs. Carnahan he hoped she could find some solace in winning the election.

If it wasn't a Republican you would call it class.
