Only when.....(all together, now, kids).......THE OTHER-GUY DOES IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! (http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsPackageArticle.jhtml?type=businessNews&storyID=598018&section=finance)

"Airbus has criticised a U.S. move to take a fight about subsidies to the World Trade Organisation, saying it shows its rival's unwillingness to address its own subsidies.

Washington on Wednesday filed a case challenging European loans to help Airbus develop aircraft and terminated a 1992 civil aircraft agreement covering government support for the two top aircraft manufacturers.

"The United States decision to terminate the 1992 agreement and request formal consultations at the WTO is a strong demonstration of our competitor's unwillingness to enter negotiations to end the massive U.S. federal and state supports for the 7E7 and other programmes," Airbus said in a statement on Thursday." :@@:

Political contributions buy government subsidies and tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations, funded by taxes on those who don't have large sums to contribute. We do have the best democracy money can buy, but it's for our own good, as we would clearly understand if only we had the benefit of the superior education that the Ivy League schools provide the children of the wealthy and a few superior students brought in to prevent inbreeding in the upper classes. We wouldn't want hemophelia to become a problem.

Just so I'm straight on this - it's Bush's fault that the U.S. is losing jobs. But it's also wrong of him to try to do something about it?

I don't believe I ever even implied that Bush is responsible foer the U.S. losing jobs. Actually, I think that there are several major causes of job loss. One of the factors is the increase in productivity of workers due to the personal computer, and other computerized manufacturing processes. Another is poorly concieved free trade agreements, without clauses that allow for fair trade practices. This I lay at the feet of several past administrations, both Republican and Democrats. I support free and fair trade, but not the unreasonable agreements that have actually been negotiated.
