I don't know about anyone else, but I am really tired of seeing fish being blended into some foul drink in the ad for Florida Orange Juice, and having it aired at 7:30 am, when I am not fully awake and just enjoying my first cup of coffee for the day.

Then to add insult to injury, Swiffer dry mop goes around shoving foul, disgusting dirty mop heads in everyone's face.

What are they thinking? That by disgusting us enough we will consider their products? If that is the case, they got this homemaker totally wrong.

I am so completely turned off by these ads, I would NEVER consider purchasing their product. I don't care how good they are, I don't want them in my home. I'll drink water or coffee, but not Florida Orange juice, and I'll use a broom and sweep the foul stuff into a dust pan and toss it before buying a Swiffer dry mop and then having to touch the foul disgusting thing to remove it before tossing it away. And even if I did use the Swiffer dry mop, I would NEVER be so inconsiderate as to shove it in another's face to show what it could do.

Give me a break!!!!

I agree with you on the whole Swiffer thing. I have never personally used one, but I can only imagine how disgusting it would be to touch one of those pad things. As far as the orange juice commerical goes, I haven't seen it yet, but once I do I'll get back to ya on it.

Actually, the Swiffer things are fairly good for lightweight floor cleaning, and you don't have to touch anything foul to dispose of the pad.
The commercials that irk me are generally the ones featuring some type of feminine hygiene product, or another magic pill for impotent men. There are plenty others that are bad, but none especially come to mind at the moment.
One I enjoyed not long ago was the one showing a petite young woman paralel parking a GMC Suburban in the middle of a row of Harleys.

Yes, I remember the first time I heard the ad for Cialis to aid men that suffer from ED. Our 14 year old grandson was watching the TV with us, as he was visiting for the weekend. When they mentioned that having an erection for 4 hours or more to seek medical help, the boy leaped up and hollered "Geez, even I would seek help if I had a 4 hour erection!!" And we all just died laughing!! But at least we were able to laugh at that one.

fsu_girl, I guarantee you will recognize the orange juice commercial when you see it. It's rather difficult to ignore seeing one toss an entire fish into a blender going full blast. I almost gagged that first time I saw it.

And I don't mind Swiffer making claims that their dry mop does an excellent job, it's just the way they are going about it that bothers me. I'm sure they could have found another method of demonstrating what a good job their mop does without shoving it within 4" of an unsuspecting person's face to show all of the gather debri and garbage. It's just so "uncouth!!"
