Mt St Helens is tooting her horn again. Any bets as to whether she blows her top again or not?

I have a beautifull view of the mountain from my front room so if she does it will be kinda cool to watch. I have my telescope set up to get an up close and personal view.

Surely an interesting develop to watch. We're just getting deluged with all sorts of disasters (those past and possible future) aren't we?

California just had an earthquake.

Not sure if the hurricanes hitting florida was a disaster or a Karma. -sarcasm off.

When Mt. St. Helens blew her top the last time, I was just about to head to West Germany for what became a 7 year tour. I seriously considered driving from central Texas to the great NW, but talked myself out of it after thinking long & hard about the air cooled motor in my '76 VW bus & all that dust choking everything. From the day she blew, I had to be in Germany 3 weeks later.

How far from Mt. St. Helens are you Echo? Do you have the ability to take photos through the telescope?

I'm about 60 miles away. I have a beautifull view of the mountain. The telescope makes me feel that I am right on the mountain. It is my daughters scope that she uses for astronomy. Very powerfull. I'm not sure I can take pics through it but I'll gve it a try. If it blows and I can get some good pics I'll post them.

I got to trapse around in the aftermath of St. Helens a few years after it blew. I remember we brought home a bunch of ash and pumice. Why I don't know, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I also remember when it blew, because my aunt and uncle from Portland had flown out to Wisconsin to visit us and they were PO'd that they missed it.

I bought a baby food jar of Mt St Helen ash for $5, talk about a conversation piece.

Now my son lives in Vancouver Washington. He showed me Mt St Helen and offered to drive me there but I declined. I live near Micky town and endured three hurricanes in three weeks.

1980 ----- I was only 39.
