Ok, listen I know to a lot of people this may seem of little significance in the great scheme of things, but it bothers me. I have no idea how it is in most places, but I just moved to Florida from Missouri and everyone wears stiletto heels here, what on earth is the deal with this? You cant possibly expect me to believe those are comfortable, not to mention I dont even want to see what your feet look like after walking around in those all day. I just want to know if people do this everywhere and I am just behind in the nazi stiletto regime.

floridians are a strange bunch of people. They do things for absolutly no reason. Such as wear painful shoes. Just ignore us. I doubt it is everywhere.

Since the people on the coasts like to generalize so much about the midwest, I'll return the favor. People on the east and west coast are way more superficial!

florida's weird. they've never seen snow there, and it's completely flat. plus, everything looks alike: all they have are strip malls and gated communities. it's like mass suburban hell. maybe they wear stilletos to cause pain and cut through the valium haze.

Wow, you've got us pretty nailed down...seriously. All you forgot were the flocks of snowbirds in the winter and the flocks of old people who can't drive...

What the hell are stilletos?
You also forgot that the weather changes every five minutes. And it seems huricanes have taken a liking ot us...
And what's wrong with no snow? Snow means cold, and cold means I'm cursing and wearing twenty jackets.

stilettos are shoes with pointy pointy heels. like the diameter of a pencil. they hurt when kick people with them *cackles maniacally*
borg, i spend time in florida every year with my grandparents, who are a couple of those snowbirds you so affectionately refer to. my grandmother is the type who drives way too fast for her own good, and can't pass up a good bargain. she's also commie grandmother. my grandparents amuse me to no end.

I've only been to Flordia once.....went to see my cousin play minor leauge baseball in Daytona.
Seen a guy on the beach wearing nothing but a jockstrap and a cowboy hat play a guitar while singing always on my mind by Willie Nelson.
And, I kid you not.

Provided that they have the body for them, some women really look good in stilletto's. I just bought my girlfriend a pair of black ones with ankle straps and six inch heels, and she looks absolutely dynamite in them. I know that they aren't meant for everyday wear (or for that matter, to be worn for long periods of time), but they really do make her calves stand out. (especially when she wears an ankle bracelet and black silk stocking with them) :flowers:

I can't see why anyone wouldn't want you to wear them. I've seen women over 6 ft tall wearing them and they all turn heads like crazy. The sound those shoes make when a woman walks across a hard floor will definitely draw alot of attention to her :)

Stilettos are a fun accessory, and really add punch to a skirt,
but I don't know many people planning to walk miles and miles in them.
Fashion is a pain sometimes...........

In Florida, chicks bare their toes and ankles. Because of the climate, the girls expose their skin a lot longer during the course of a year than elsewhere, so most work hard to make their feet look beautiful. I do think Floridian girls have the better looking feet, and so it makes sense that they wear stilettos to accentuate. However, here at the college town Gainesville, girls most often wear sandals, comfy and no loss of sexiness.

Also trendy fashion just doesn't work in Florida (with the except of Miami). Take a sample of 12 issues of GQ, for example, which covers the entire year, you will find that 75% of the apparels are too hot to wear in Florida 90% of the time in the year. Even in December people can get by with just a short sleeve T-shirt during the day sometimes. And then there is the problem of environmental backdrop. Much trendy fashion is for wearing it and walking on the street, with some sort of urban backdrop. 95% of Florida is suburbia, no one walks on the street, you get background of ocean, blue sky, palm trees, and prarie. Only one kind of fashion suitable for this backdrop. Lastly, there is the population. Although the youth would like to purchase fashionable apparels, some of these stores just won't get enough business in Florida, because such a big % of the population are retired, old, and don't care for fashions much, less high fashions.

I am unequivocally a stiletto girl. Always have been, always will be. Um, until it just becomes sort of gross.
Also---the comfort of the shoe itself is also based on the caliber of the shoe. Payless Shoes isnt going to offer up the same shoe as Bloomingdales, and therefore, it can also be an issue of you get what you pay for.
