This guy's not a parent exactly, but in the same league:

Man throws baby out of car (http://www.wavy.com/Global/story.asp?S=2297266)

On the plus side, he got rid of the baby before he killed himself by crashing.

I heard the baby was not hurt...

Me and my brother supposedly used to drink my parents alcohol all the time when we were babies... and believe me, it was far from beer.... I've been told that I was dropped on my head several times as well (my mom: "babies are really bouncy").... And I turned out just fine! Oh wait, no I didn't. Well that explains a lot. :p

People generally start feeling guilty when they hear about...unfortunate parents...and such. Makes them uncomfortable. It's nothing personal, it's just most people would rather not talk about things...

I was dropped on my head? A few times, and my mom slammed my head in the car door, my grandmother used to give me wine, I got hit in the head with a baseball bat when I was in second grade, 18 stitches. What else led to me being fucked up... Oh, my parents forced me to go to a Catholic church every Sunday. Luckly I never stayed late for "special" time with any priests. My parents have even said I was the one they fucked up... My brother is the good one.
My parents aren't that bad though... Minus my mom being 18 when I was born and had no idea what she was doing. Hmm, not as bad as my friend, who's real mom had her at 16.

::sigh::.... Well that's comforting, my life makes people uncomfortable because they feel sorry for me! Well I feel a lot better now...

We don't feel sorry for you, we are just concerned for you. You are our friend, we don't want to see you hurt. You are important to us. To this forum.

Don't feel bad. I'll start to feel bad then :(

That's a nasty pic - and a great propoganda piece. Mother of the year. lol. But if you look at the kids hands you can tell it has been doctored. He has the hands of an adult.

LOL.
That reminds me of the exchange in the movie "Young Frankenstien". When The Dr. was explaining to his beautiful, young assistant that parts of the monster where enlarged. Her face lights up and she says "even his schlossingrubber?"

I think that there could be more resources for parents, but not being a parent myself, I am unsure what resources that would be. Any suggestions. I am thinking along the lines of classes, therapy, etc.

Unfortunately kids don't come with direction. Most of go into parenthood with nothing more than the knowledge of what worked and didn't work on us. And some people are even ignorant of that.

I have thought for a long time that expectant parents should be reguired to take parenting and anger management classes before being allowed to bring the kid home. Heck, you have to pass a test to drive, what's wrong with requireing some basic knowledge before parenting?

Not the worst idea I've ever heard. Of course the good parents who don't need the classes would go and the idiot white-trash child-beating parents would skip the classes.

With the software available today, I wouldn't believe a picture was real unless I took it myself. Especially one that obviously is being used to support a political position. We all know about the intellegence photographs that were used to scare us into this war. We've seen the propganda that the GOP has been putting out. Republicans just have no credibility anymore with intellegent, thinking people.

Debating the legitimacy of any given picture is pointless. The terrorists have used a child to bomb victims at least once. It may not be typical, but let's not pretend that it hasn't happened either.

I've seen infants with their hair cut & more than a few piercings to mirror what the same sex gang-banging parent has, and even the beginnings of tatoos on some. It's not much of a stretch to believe that some of the same homicide bombers that wander into crowded markets or onto buses and detonate what they're wearing would also pass along that very same idiotic zeal to their offspring, at least in appearance. Those face mask wearing cowardly barbarians see the bombers as heros, so why not recruit from the lowest level? Teach them from birth that their destiny is to walk into allah's arms, not mentioning that there'll not be enough left of their physical body to fill a matchbox. No vessle for the soul to return to, perhaps?

But if the republicans are the only ones who have no credibility with you then you really need to take a step back and do a reality check.

Truly intelligent, thinking people in this country understand the whole political process has become a song and dance. Both rich politicians making promises that neither intend to even attempt in order to obtain the neccessary votes to get them the power their money makes them feel they so richly deserve.

As for the disgusting examples of people who have children in this thread, (i refuse to call them parents) caning would be too good for them IMO.
