I watched the game through-and-through....and i have some things to say.......
Its a DAMN shame......A DAMN SHAME!!.. that the colts didn't win that game. We proved we were the better team, the patriots just got some luck and some GREAT performances. Think about it. It took a near PERFECT game from Tom Brady, and career games by his receivers....just to beat an AVERAGE-playing colts team. Had the colts not beaten THEMSELVES, they would've won by at least 10 points. So do i call the pats winners? sort of.....i more call them FORTUNATE.
Another thing......the pats Defense is SOOOO vulnerable. We ran ALL OVER them. Edgerrin James was running 5 yards a carry at will, and Peyton Manning was peyton manning. We may have lost the first round......but if we meet in the playoffs, i would expect the colts to be the favorite based off of what i saw in the game. The pats can't rely on luck for forever ya know!

Bottom line:
Patriots - 1-0
Colts - 0-1
It doesnt matter how you get there, its how you finish. I will say the Colts look like a very superior offensive team once again and the fact that the officials are going to enforce the 5 yard rule can only help them. The only way the Colts are going to beat the Patriots though is to get them down to Indianapolis. I think on turf they would beat the Pat's by 20.

Exactly! No amount of whining is going to change it. Besides, if the Pats are playing "near-perfect," and the Colts are "average playing" doesn't that make the Pats the better team?

oh geez.....easy there.
I'm not whining...im just making observations.
First off....it DOES matter how much you win or lose by. This is how you judge your progress!!! If you get blown out, rush for 2 yards, and throw 10 interceptions...are you saying they are in the same status as the team that lost by 3 who ran for 150 yards and scored 3 touchdowns? Its called momentum. All im doing is calling it how i see it. The colts were the better team that night, but the better team doesn't always win. Luck is better than being good, anyone will tell you that one.
Its also about potential. So when i say the colts played average and the pats played near perfect....its saying that IF both teams played to their best, the colts would win, in my opinion. The pats know they got a lucky break, its obvious. They aren't happy that we ran all over them and moved the ball at will. They aren't happy that they had to rely on getting fumbles on the 1 yard line and 3 turnovers in the red zone. while its very fortunate to have, head coaches don't like playing with those risks, because you don't always get them. The pats were just fortunate enough to have things go their way that night. Next time we play the pats, they know we are capable of beating them. thats why your claim of "a loss is a loss" is outdated and skewed in my opinion.

even if you win the second time around, you still have that one loss in the column...hence, a loss is a loss.

since when do losses matter....as long as we make the playoffs, everyone is 0-0 in the playoffs.

I feel sorry for manning sometimes, he works so hard only to have his teamates screw him over. E. James fumbling on the 1 yard line? ouch. that was it for the colts. the patriots are jsut one of those teams with incredible luck. some teams get a lot of lucky bounces and fluke plays, the patriots are one of those teams. thats not to say they are not a great teeam with great coaching, but football does involve a great deal of luck.

Well Travh, to be fair, Manning DID throw an interception inside the red zone himself. So the blame doesnt lie entirely with the rest of the team.

well i hate making excuses.....but if you want to blame that INT on someone...give it to the offensive line. Manning was about to get drilled if he doesn't get rid of that ball.
E. James had a great game...WHEN he held onto the ball. If james doesn't make high-school mistakes, like i said, the colts would've won by 10. and james normally doesn't fumble a bunch. that's why i said the pats were fortunate. the better team doesn't always win...which is a DAMN shame.
