It appears as if Russia is about to launch its own war on terror. They are threatning to strike terrorist bases 'world wide". again, the bush administration is practicing hypocrisy and trying to get russia to calm down. one of the things I hate about the bush administration is how they continually try to get countries like israel and russia, who are frequent vicitims of terrorism, to calm down and negotiate and not retaliate. It is realy pissing me off. We have 2 powerful allies ready to throw down agaisnt the terrorists, that being russia and israel, and we seem to think they should just sit there and get hit and do nothing. screw that, let russia and israel go to town, get after these terrorists and take em out. Bush needs to stop with the idea that only we can retaliate against terrorists. take the leash off of israel and give russia the support she needs to act in her best interest as we do.

we should be utilizing Israeli intelligence, by far the most important tool in eliminating terrorism. Israel has much better intelligence than us, and we should be taking advantage of that to do the world some good.

Oh yeah - the Israelis have done so well eliminating terrorism on their own turf - we should take lessons from them.

Isreal could have completly destroyed the terrorists if for some reason Bush and all the other american presidents before him didnt tie their hads. let them go, let them defend themselves, thats what i say. they can start with the granfather of all terrorists, Yasser Arafat. i still cant belive that guy won a nobel peace prize, LMAO

There are reports floating around that imply the school terrorists were not Chechens. Don't know if that's true or not but if there's a point to my post it would be ... maybe Putin should identify the bad guys before he starts levelling the planet.

Ya know the guy came up through the KGB and probably a closet hard-liner to boot. If this guy goes ballistic [sic] everyone better run for cover.

Chrissakes -- now we have 2 nutcases going rogue on the world. Make that 3 -- wouldn't want to leave our good bud and policy maker Sharon.

I'm getting on ebay to see if anyone is selling a good old fashioned 1950's backyard bomb shelter.

he knows some of the terrorists were al qeada arabs, why do you think he said he would go world wide? if the terrorists were all chechens he would only have to go to chechenya

From the way Putin handles these situations it appears he doesn't know or care about anything or he's awfully good at playing dumb.

We had this school deal -- total disaster ... the theater deal ... total disaster and don't forget the russian sub 'Kursk' ... more than a total disaster. Those were his own sailors that died a horrible death for no reason other than Putin's hubris, ego and uncertainty.

Putin needs to take a time out and chill a bit before he starts threatening the entire world. With a guy like him, there's always a possibility he really means it.

A weekend of partying with me on the beach would straighten him out -- guarantee he wouldn't know a chechnian from a czechoslovakian when he gets back to russia.

Rather scary for czechs and slovaquians.

About the title of tis thread - travh, were did you see Putin ever had gloves ? Maybe he should, anyway, to hide the blood on his hands.

I remind you what led to his election in 1999 :

Three bombs exploded in Moscow, causing many death and scaring the russian opinion. Then Putin said he would be though on terrorists and was elected. No investigation ever could tell who put the bombs. But sure it couldn't be a manipulation by Putins's former KGB friends, since now they are good people and believers in free economy.

Putin kept on saying it was the chechens, and a few month later the Russian army was attacking this autonomous republic, levelling its cities and kiling civilians - should I mention the systematic use of torture, rapes, and the infamous prisoner camp of Tchernokozovo ?

I'm happy to learn this guy is now going to get really tough !
