Bill Clinton is starting to take over the Kerry campaign, installing his operatives inside the kerry camp and giving kerry advice on how to reinvigorate his failing campaign. If kerry is bringing in clinton he must be desperate. clinton and his antics are the reason gore lost the 2000 election, and I have to believe this was supposed to be hush hush, as any appearance that somehow the clintons are running the election is nota good thing for the image of kerrys campaign. again, he must be desperate.

Bill's probably starting to get worried - if Kerry loses than Hillary can run in 2008.

Bill Clinton is one of the greatest politicians of all time. He had nothing to do with Gore losing the election in 2000. The state of Florida and conservative supreme court justices had something to do with Gore losing the election in 2000.
Bill Clinton is and probably will be for a long time, the biggest and most widely liked politician of our day. Just as his speech as a huge hit at the convention, he will be a huge aid to Kerry. They are similar in some ways.
They are both running as a democrat against a republican incumbent. Who just happens to be both Bush's. And they both have great hair.
Its a winning combination, lol.

Another Dop prediction that comes true. ROTF
Like Jere already said, BC is the most popular president in history. Even in the middle of his impeachment his ratings were in the 70's...
Now compare those numbers to our sitting war-time president whose numbers are in the 40's ... ROTFLMAO

Quite a difference there.
I bet Ken Starr is beating himself in the head at those numbers.

Didn't he win re-election with like 42 percent of the vote?

I think it was pretty close to the majority...the closest its been sense 88.

Trav here is pissed because not only did Clinton rightly beat out Bush Sr and then open a can of wup ass on Bob Dole but he did such an obviously better job than Bush Jr. that most of the US would re-re-elect him if given the chance.
I think Clinton giving advice to Kerry is a good thing, and his advice is sound. If Kerry focused on domestic issues, he could stick it to Bush.

Bill Clinton is the most popular president ever and will be the most popular president for eternity. This will be especially true after he serves his 3rd and 4th terms in the white house in a Hillary Clinton administration.

Instead, insert "The only reason Trav here makes this out to be negative is because...."

He's the most popular in recent memory, not the most popular ever. Those rights go to Lincoln, Washington, JFK, FDR and Teddy. ;)

so firing a bunch of people and new people coming in this late in the game is a positive development for Kerry? If you insist.

I think it's an improvement over his campaign team thus far and a wise choice. I wouldn't get confident if I were you. He did the same thing in the primaries and won 'em.

ya, i have heard all the left wing positive spin on all of this. The media lately has been quick to point out that kerry did this and kerry did that and blah blah blah, its almost as if they are trying to say being down 10 points is a good thing. I can safely say if bush were down 10 points the talk would be abot how it is close to impossible for him to come back now and it looks likes kerrys going to win. You can put on a brave face, but the fact remains he is droping like a stone.

Please... the ten points is the post-convention bounce. Give it a week and the polls will probably pull back even again. Bush may even maintain a three or four point lead, but not the ten points he has now. Kerry having Clinton in his corner is a good thing, especially considering how well-liked Clinton was. The mid-campaign shake-up is a sign that Kerry recognizes the clogs in his plan and is working them out before the most important stretch of the election season.
And if he does get his act together, Dubbya better watch out.

Ok medea. How do you explain the negative bounce kerry got after his convention? one of the polls that came out showing bush up by ten was taken BEFORE The end of the convention, at the time the media said "well, this is taken before the end of the convention, lets see what they say after its over", now that its over its the same. I dont see clinton coming on board as a good sign. sure, millions of democrats adore the guy, but many moderates and undecides dont. he is a devisive guy, a known liar under oath. The appearance of clinton manipulating kerry is not a positive development. Clinton is not popular like you believe, he is more like infamous to many americns who see him as a stain, no pun intended, on the office of President.

I doubt that Lincoln could bring 'em to their feet in the deep south and I doubt Washington could bring 'em to their feet in London and I doubt JFK could bring 'em to their feet in Miami and I doubt FDR could bring 'em to their feet in Tokyo or Kyoto (Tokyo spelled sidways :D) and I doubt Teddy could bring 'em to their feet on the great railroads.
Clinton could do all the above -- the best president in history.

If Kerry's ideas become more sound as a result of the Big C's advice, the undecides (like myself) won't care who it came from. In fact, I just did a quick poll of my dorm. Only 1 of 10 people I talked to knew Clinton was helping Kerry and that one was a Liberal. However.. If Kerry's ideas stabilize and the issues are actually adressed, I think you'll see a swing, regardless of who the advice came from. As for the polls, you may or may not be right. I would have to check it out, however a lot of the big hooplah is post-convention bounce that won't hold its own for much longer. Especially if people found out Bush hiked up prescription costs the day after his speech.

I have been hearing from the democrats on this board for 6 months that kerry is going to walk away with the election, and its mearly a formality, all the while kerry gets farther and farther away from contention. ITs coming down o the wire now, and a little late in the game to switch game plans I am afraid. I think the democrats nominated the wrong guy. They are stuck with him now and have to build him up to something substantial, which he is not. If it were not so sad to watch it would be very amusing

Of course they nominated the wrong guy. Hell, I hate Bush and still won't vote for Kerry. However, this is a positive step towards the much-needed late run.

they would have been better off getting a guy who was NOT in Vietnam, a guy who didnt waste months of precious campaign time rehashing his role onboard a freaking swiftboat like it was command of I Corps or something.
