Trav, it's that narrow-minded outlook shared by people like you that keeps the cycle of hate turning. Keep up the good work, and thanks for doing your part to breed terrorism. I suspect that what really bothers you the most, is that two teenaged girls have a better understanding of the problem, and possible solutions to it, than you do.

Green-Eyed, Whammy, don't let idiots like Trav ever convince you that they're right. Keep thinking as you do, and working for change, and the world will be a better place for it.

I'm a very practical person. While they have a definite understanding of the problem, I don't see their solutions as particularly possible.

Perhaps not, but their solution is certainly more intelligent than Trav's whining.

The first step in solving any problem is recognizing that a problem exists, and then you can begin to explore solutions. Trav's solution is simply to go on killing, and will make the situation worse, not better.

Trav, being practical never egts anyone anywhere. it's being idealistic and working hard, and pursuing ridiculous goals that accomplishes something. if one has lofty ambitions and doesn't quoite fulfill them, something has still been done. all i can see from your attitude trav is that you don't seem to have a feeling of personable responsibilty, and you aren't taking it upon yourself to go ut and fight for what you beleive in. if you go ut and actualize the things you beleive in, people may have more respect for your ideas. I know I would.

Im sure they would be the voice of reason and tell the terrorists how much they understand their plight and how they understand if they kill their children, the terrorists were forced to do so.

Trav, HaVok, try and pay attention...you always come back to this same argument even though this question was answered on the first page of this thread...

To answer your question Trav, the current situation involving the terrorists holding the school in Chechnya, is probably well past the point where negotiation is possible. There is little doubt that this particular situation will end violently.

It did end violently....now here's the important part...

Once this situation has resolved itself however, something must be done to try and bring the two parties to the negotiating table or further incidents like this are inevitable. Military retaliation will do nothing to solve the problem regardless of how emotionally satisfying it may be.

In short, once an act of terrorism has occurred...I'TS TOO LATE TO NEGOTIATE...you must see what you can do to prevent the NEXT act of terrorism, unless you want to be caught in an endless cycle of violence.
