I am located in the small percentage of people who loved Catwoman. Sixty-five percent of the reviews I've read hated it and I loved it. In a genre of male dominated leading roles, i.e. Superman, Batman and Spider-Man, Catwoman breaks through as a refreshing addition. I that Halle Berry's preformance was brilliant. They didn't wait a long time before introducing her as Catwoman, and the change of costumes added to the idea that she was just getting started as a "Super Hero" whereas Batman didn't design his costume, Alfreds designed them through time. I think it's important as Halle was given this lead as the main character, even thought she was a main character in X-Men. I would think any fan of Halle's would love this film, but I have heard differently.

I saw Catwoman when it first came out and personally, I LOVED it. My girlfriend also loved it too. I've learned over the years not to limit my curiosity by other people's opinoins. All the critics said that "The Villiage" was supposed to be a superb movie. To me that was the most boring film I've seen in years. :(

Catwoman Rocked!!! I enjoyed it, and to me that's all that matteres :)

The reason many are opposed to this movie is not so much the quality of the movie... but the fact that the movie was made at all. I happen to be in possession of the "original" Catwoman script which was written in 1993 for Michelle Pfeiffer and set to be Tim Burton's 3rd Batman movie (with Bruce Wayne making only a small cameo). Unfortunately, Michelle got pregnant (a strange twist of cosmic irony, considering she only got the role in "Batman Returns" because Anette Benning got pregnant herself). The movie was shelved from there on. To have made a Catwoman movie now -- more than ten years later -- would have been acceptable, especially since Catwoman is my favourte vigilate comic book character/super hero. HOWEVER... the fact remains that Catwoman was a creation of Selina Kyle's alter-ego... and not some other woman named Patience. To Batman/Catwoman fans, this movie was a means for the studio to use the script, change the names and cash in on it without paying any respect to the franchise, the history, the creators, or the fan-base for that matter. Okay, so it may be a good stand-alone movie... and I MIGHT have seen it if it was called "Panther Girl" or something... but she coincidentally died and was brought back to life by cats... and then had strange powers that Catwoman didn't have. The point is... that movie had nothing to with "Catwoman". It was just a woman in a cat suit and they used the name. (Not to say it was bad... I'm sure it was enjoyable)
