Ok. I created this thread for everyone to post, mostly those who support third party candidates, but everyone can still post.

Im just going to tell you why I support Michael Peroutka, who is running on the ballot for the Constitution Party, for President of the United States.

I know that more than likely he has no chance of winning presidency, but I believe he has the chance of getting 1st out of all third parties and beyond.

Peroutka's mission is to Honor God, Defend the Family , and to Restore the Republic. I believe all those are very important in an election.

If Peroutka was elected as President, the first thing he would do is to ban abortion. That is a major issue among Presidential Candidates today.

Peroutka is against same sex marriages, thats a plus. If Peroutka was elected as President, he will get the military out of Iraq. Me personally, I am against the war as well.

Peroutka is for the Constitution. Why shouldnt you be?

The only thing I dont like in Peroutka's platform is women in the military. If Peroutka was president, he would try his hardest to get women out of the military. I think women should serve in the military if they want to. Its their life.

Well, these are the reasons why I support Peroutka for President. If you would like to visit his website, just look at my signature and it has the website on there.

I would appreciate all third party supporters on here to tell why you support your third party candidate for president. That would help alot.

Thanks

Do you know why he supports this....is it he thinks they are not qualified...or doesnt want them hurt...or I guess it could be a mix of the both...

I agree with most of the rest of his platform.....accept with a few tweeks on them. Abortion unless its rape, or will kill the woman....Gay Marriage, I think should be left up to that person and God.

And I defanatley agree with Honoring God.:D

Nice contradiction there...

Why does that have to be a contridiction.

The man can stand up for God and the Constitution too.

He may be able to stand up for God, but not in an official capacity. Hence the First Amendment.

I see your point....

But that same amendment gives him his freedom of Religion too...I feel that he has the right to base his platform around honoring God...he has his rights as do the American people.

I don't think you get it. He wants to *force* the American people to honor HIS god. That's not defending the constitution.

No I get the gist of the argument.

I am no expert on Michael Paroutka, but I will just both oppose and defend the platform.

Scenario 1: Paroutka's plan calls for it to be mandatory for everyone in America to worship our Christian God, than he is politically wrong.

Scenario 2: If by honoring God he means the country in general, then of course that is respectable. We are of course a Christian Nation where more of then 3/4th of the population are either Christian or believe in God....so if he means as a nation a whole, its time to honor God, than he is standing up for a very admiral thing.

Gonna do a little shout for the Libertarian Party here....
www.lp.org

Libertarians are in favor of a laissez faire capitalistic government. Taxes would go way down, and the government would not be meddling in all of the crap that they shouldn't be dealing with in the first place. The United States is supposed to stand for freedom and liberty!!!

The Libertarian Party is committed to America's heritage of freedom:
individual liberty and personal responsibility
a free-market economy of abundance and prosperity
a foreign policy of non-intervention, peace, and free trade.

As noble as you think your candidate is, he, in my opinion, embodies the negative traits of Kerry and Bush combined.

Namely:

Peroutka's mission is to Honor God, Defend the Family, and to Restore the Republic. I believe all those are very important in an election.

Personally, I have no problem with this, but others here will definitely object to the whole God thing, and that's a promise.

If Peroutka was elected as President, the first thing he would do is to ban abortion.

Absolutely disagree. There are extenuating circumstances that should be taken into consideration before encouraging raped women and teenagers to start breaking out closet hangers, if you catch my drift. I think "banning" it is a really BAD IDEA for many reasons.

If Peroutka was elected as President, he will get the military out of Iraq. Me personally, I am against the war as well.

There are a myriad of reasons we're there, and to jump ship NOW, would be financial suicide. Iraq will give us an in-road to the Middle East, which is something we've been looking for now for decades, but you're right...let's pack up our shit and leave.

Peroutka is against same sex marriages, thats a plus.

If he were running for president of this forum, he'd fall right after Trav and I do, and that's saying a lot. (or maybe it's not saying alot!?! - you decide...)

It sounds like your candidate is socially conservative and fiscally liberal, which, in an ideal world, is exactly the opposite of how it should be. Sorry if this offends you, but the guy sounds like a clown to me...:comphit:
