25,000 cheered Kerry on, in the Portland, Oregon rally! My mother, Tina (her friend), my cousin Sadie and I all attended. We got within 5 feet of him, and my mother got his autograph on her American Flag visor! It was the best! Portland Loves Kerry!!!

We got to hear John Bongiovi, and Leanardo de Caprico (oh lala), at the rally! Mrs. Kerry delivered a great speech, and John Kerry gave another awesome speech. He really is starting to loosen up and become a much better public speaker. Oh and Kerry/Edwards 2004!

Yeah, I've never been to a political rally (with the exception of the Day of the Bombing peace rally) as enthralling as this. I really wish I could have shaken his hand, but I got really close to him and I got to hear his speach first-hand, so that's good enough for me.

To be honest with you, OD, I take Trav's side, because, for the most part, I agree with him. I think he's fairly politically astute, and I've learned to respect his perspective regarding certain issues.

I can guarantee we won't agree on every issue, but on some, his logic is right down my alley. I don't know for certain, but I think Trav and I disagree on the abortion issue. We might not agree on whether SCR should be federally funded, and I'm sure there’s a laundry list of other things as well, but for the most part, I generally like his take on politics. I'm certainly NO Polly Anna, so it’s not like I’m trying to parrot him, but I do respect what he’s done for our country and the logic he uses to reason things out.

Here's an idea: Stop judging people by their age, political stance, sexual orientation, etc. and consider the fact that whatever is said on this forum (or anywhere else) comes from a rational, functional human mind. I've never "hidden behind my age." It's only when people say things like, "don't listen to her, she's just fifteen" that I call them on it.

What the hell is up with that? Other than at my hotel, they had ONE restaurant open for breakfast and I got stuck on this bus riding next to a "guy" who was sporting women's costume jewelry with Oshkosh overalls while wearing a F**king dinner jacket replete with green socks, dress shoes, and a beret. I was scared s**tless, and when I finally was able to get off the bus, I hightailed it out of there and found sanctuary in the Miller food court. The kicker: I was calmly drinking this swill labeled "Leinenkugel's Creamy Dark ", only to have an oddity of equal proportions sit down RIGHT next to me and my family. Nervous...absolutely. Suspect...for sure. MOMENTS later the same overall toting, dinner jacket wearing, weirdo finds me in a crowd of about 50,000 people, and now, I'm given the added task of having to protect my family as well. Uncool, to say the least. These freaks found us in a loaded park, and that's no bulls**t. This other dude was sporting a "business-casual" look as well, with the added luxury of nails that were at least a half an inch long. Just so happened that both of these dudes were already "acquainted", and both of them were in there 40's, and that’s NO bulls**t, PERIOD.
