View Full Version : Feasibility of Noah's Ark?

I find this story to be far-fetched for some reason.

1. There are so many species of creatures in the world, many of which are still undiscovdered by man. Based on the dimentions in the bible, how is it physically possible to hold them all on a craft that size?

2. How would it be possible for one man and his family to gather 2 specimens of each creature in their lifetime?

3.If the earth was flooded by rain, how would the aquatic creatures survive this? Would the salt water become diluted? Would't the fresh water become more salty? HOw would they survive this?

4. What about all the plant species? How did they all survive? Did they take seed aboard too?

5. After the flood subsided, how did they distribute all the animals to their current land of origin? THere are many species that are native to only a limited land mass (think australia and the marsupials) (think galpagos islands etc) Did Noah and his family go to these places and de3posit them there?

6. if Noah and his sons and their wives were the sole survivors of this flood, how did they repopulate the earth? Their offspring would have had to reproduce with each other. Weren't they cousins? SO we are all the product of incest?

What is it in the bible that makes this story so feasable and logical to people?
I have more questions on this, but I will let you respond with your thoughts.........

It isn't

2. How would it be possible for one man and his family to gather 2 specimens of each creature in their lifetime?

They didn't

3.If the earth was flooded by rain, how would the aquatic creatures survive this? Would the salt water become diluted? Would't the fresh water become more salty? HOw would they survive this?

They couldn't

4. What about all the plant species? How did they all survive? Did they take seed aboard too?

They still wouldn't be able to bring back every single plant

5. After the flood subsided, how did they distribute all the animals to their current land of origin? THere are many species that are native to only a limited land mass (think australia and the marsupials) (think galpagos islands etc) Did Noah and his family go to these places and de3posit them there?

This too, still would have been impossible

6. if Noah and his sons and their wives were the sole survivors of this flood, how did they repopulate the earth? Their offspring would have had to reproduce with each other. Weren't they cousins? SO we are all the product of incest?

I refuse to be related to authentic :D

Noahs boat could have been possible but only on a MUCH smaller scale. There is evidence that there were bad floods in certain parts of the world, so it could be possible this guy saved as many creatures as possible in that small area.
