How much money do you think we spend on medicare, education, welfare/unemployment, ect? What if we shut down those programs and gave the money directly back to the people. Not in the form of tax cuts, but true redistribution of wealth. Certain conditions would apply of course. Like edu money would only go to ppl with children, medicare money would go to people taking drugs. I think that this would be superior to funding all of these programs.

I heard a figure recently, im not sure where though, but the cost of education now is 10,000 dollars per child. I go to a pretty good private school for 15,000 dollars on top of what we pay in taxes. So, more private schools, more competition, and people would have the money to pay for it. Now dont tell me the quality of education would go down because the schools are run by money grubbing corporate demons. Great thing about private schools, if you dont like it, you can go to another school.

Also, im not in favor of totally disbanding the welfare system. It's good for disabled people. But i am in favor of getting rid of unemployement checks. Everyone would still get money from the funding which went into the system, but it would only come once a year in a larger check. I think this would give people more incentive to work. And, they can save that money they get for a rainy day, say, in case they get fired.

Now im definately not the first to say this, but w/e.
So, what does everyone think about this idea?
