Okay, I know how you spell "women" as "womin" because you think it's wrong to have the word "men" in it or whatever. Well I was just wondering, how you distinguish between "woman" and "women"
Just curious

ConfusingYouth thinks that spelling woman w-o-m-a-n is wrong because it has the word man m-a-n in it.....CY is trying to make a statement that separates man from woman...obviously a deep and personal issue...<sar>I'm sure that it will spread far and wide and the dictionaries of the ages will change......

I agree with ConfusedYouth about the spelling. I spell woman "womon" and women "womyn".

Well I think I will start spelling some females names to H-O-T-T-I-E.....
Hope there is no objection, always been a real deep emotional thing, you get what I mean.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's ridiculous. Can anyone give me one good reason why the spelling should be changed?

We already have so go read the post again!!!
DaveTooner

It should be spelled different because it is wrong to have the word "man" within the word "woman"
You call that a good reason? Priceless.
The spelling "woman" does not have any kind of male superiority connotation to it whatsoever. Do you also think it is wrong to refer to the human-race as "mankind?"
You liberals really know how to make a mountain out of a mole hill (in this case, less than a mole hill)

Many womin feel that it's a perfectly good reason and ask the spelling of "women" to be spelled womin or womon to show speration from men and that there own beings.
I know many womin who prefer that spelling over "women" and because on the consent of so many I change the spelling. If you don't like it you little shits than spell it how you please I do! So fuck off and dont make a big deal out of nothing! I mean its only human rights where fighting for......

Hilarious, Dave! You are the one who started this thread and is making a big deal and wanting to bitch, and then you accuse "feminazis" of making the big deal! Priceless! Why do you care how other people choose to spell? You're the one giving this topic so much attention.

That's your opinion, and that's fine, but that is not my point.
You said, and I quoted in my last post, that the "feminazis" were to blame for making such a big deal. I don't see any "feminazis" or anyone else making as big a deal about this as you. You even devoted this whole thread to the subject!

Funny... jackass... because man does not need to be spelled differently if "womin" is....
Also in our society and for millions of years man has been seen as superior to womin so the spelling of min is absolutely retarded...

Maybe men named Jack should be outraged and change their names because the term jack-ass must be so offensive.....I mean for hundreds of years the name Jack in jack-ass, it must come to an end...! All of the Jacks in the world are just fine though....they know who they really are....do you?
ConfusedYouth

I've stated clearly that many womin spell it differently to show there no longer opressed in our society and that men are no longer superior (as if they ever were).
Womin have been beat and oppressed and continue to be by men so my the different spelling it shows freedom from mean and that the can be them selves.
There is no reason to spell jack differently or men or man differently there is no reason to... People have never been killed or oppressed because there name was jack and rarely for being a man...
I sure as hell don't care what your opinions are I'll continue to spell it how I please so just shut the hell up.... sluts...

what a stupid debate to have... if we use a dictionary, maybe it's for people to use nationwide. we make it universal so that people understand themselves. so stop inventing words and follow the book will you? priceless.

I agree that this is a silly debate. How someone chooses to spell matters to me not at all.
However, I am by no means a dictionary-nazi
I think CY's choosen spelling makes a statement. She/He is trying to say that you shouldn't need "man" to spell "woman." It is not a bad point. The fact that so many are so offended by her choice says a lot.

But, it got your attention, and made you take note of the statement. Even if you think it is ridiculious, the statement was made and that was what was meant to happen.
