Neither...My vote goes to either Colecovision or the regular NES.

I mean I played on PS2 and on XBOX but to tell you the truth I liked XBOX a lot better!

XBOX all the way, as far as consoles go. the built in hard drive is very nice. no memory cards, very fast load times, you can upload your own music into it and paly it in your games, all games are at least 480p and 5.1 surround. Buying an XBOX is like buyign a fully loaded car while a PS2 is like the base model.

Let me ask you all this....which of the consoles has the best variety of games to go with it? I mean, I have alot of people in my family here...4 boys, 3 girls. Us girls don't care for the sports games, but the boys do. The girls like games like Donkey Kong, Mario and the like. So which one would be best for us? Also, we like one that you can play movies and cd's on and possibly go online.

NES and SNES are the best systems of all time, hands down. :D

Right now, all three consoles suck, so I'll go with the ubiquitous PC. Plus you can get emulators and ROMs on the PC, so you can turn it into your own, multitasking console! :D

The PC is the greatest gaming platform of all time. Since you can play games from all of the other consoles on it... they say it's not legal, I say fooey. Especially with outdated consoles, they have absolutely nothing to complain about.

But on the topic of consoles, I do agree that the Super Nintendo is the best one ever created. It has the best games I have ever played on it. No new game can tear me away from Seiken Dentsu 3 and Tales of Phantasia, the best RPGs I have ever played... I like pretty graphics, so it's quite difficult for me to play the NES. And any game using 3D graphics almost anytime in the 90s. (id Software and Valve excluded. I love John Carmack...)

Not to mention that if you know how to use a Flash Animator, you can create your own games.

i dont know what all the hype about the PS2 its graphics are worse than my win 98 computer and the control is extremely clumsy. X-box is good and runs smoothly and its control is good but its price tag is a determinig factor. for only 100 dollars gamecube is my first choice its controls fit your hands well and its graphics are clean and smooth. it also has the best multiplayer and party games.

of course the PC is the best gaming rig available, but there are many factors taht contribute to the greatness of consoles. first is that you dont have to worry about compatibility. if a game is made ofr an XBOX, it will run on any xbox, period. PC"S come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes yo have to pay out big time to upgrade to play the latest games. PC"s are also a lot more unstable then consoles, as there is a lot mroe going on in them besides game playing. when operating poperly with the latest game and all the latest hardware, a PC is unbeatable, especially in the stratagy and ffirst person shooter genres. Consloles are the best for sports games and action games and anyhting that plays well with a console controler.

When it comes to the modern "big 3" consoles (XBOX, ps2, gamecube), I'd say PS2 is the best. Although the xbox is more powerful, the ps2 has much better games. Ps2 has the largest library of games to choose from and it is the system that Squaresoft makes it's games for (big plus in my book). I own all three of the systems and I think they each have their place. However IMO ps2 is best by quite a bit.

Im tied btw Xbox and Gamecube. Xbox has some awesome games and has the ability to store music on it, but it does suffer from the random glith/freeze-up and horrible loading times. Gamecube also has good games and awesome graphics (Resident evil 4), but a lack of online play and music storeage/ movie playage is a bit of an issue.... then again i live in the middle of butt f**k nowhere, so broadband aint available. In short, online don't matter to me. Playstation two..... can't say anything positive about it. DVD player is crap, there are too many games out there for it that suck, and the performance is subpar compared to the Xbox and Gamecube (As stated in an interview about GTA: san andreas on Pulse about the performance). Only positive thing about it the online play.

Gamecube was a letdown considering its past(doubledash rocks though). Super NES is the best system. And X-BOX lacks the games PS2 does. For modern systems, its got to be Play Station 2. Maybe if X-BOX would have been going for longer(since microsoft just began making game systems) then it would be better than PS2, but PS2 just has all the games.

I do love the PS2 but I've got to say that the X-box is most definately the best console. :cool:

Gran Turismo 4 will make the Xbox look silly in the Racing game genre... and Forza pfft, why bother with some cheap imatator.

Xbox live however is the reason ive kept my Xbox and Halo 2 has been amazing for a time, Ghost Recon is more my style so ive slipped back to that.

Also ive been knocking about on the new Metal Gear (my bro has a chipped ps2, i dont :( ) which is really good.

Screw X-Box Live! The PC has had online gaming for AGES! Go for the original gaming system; no imitations!

never had any slow down on any game on Xboxlive, on the pc on the other hand its non stop.

huge game selection (some suck sure, if you dont like em dont play em).
No additional hardware needed for DVD playback...never had a problem with mine personally.
Free online play but you do have to buy the adaptor.


Xbox is great for modding tho...which is my reason for getting one :D
