does anyone care about it at all...it is bugging the crap out of me because every time you turn on cnn, msnbc, fox news all they have is this laci peterson
it is horrible that she died and hopefully the person who did it will get justice, but why is this case so big compared to others.....it is like another oj!!!

What happened to her was horrible, and in no way do I diminish what happened to her, but how come the pregnant mexican woman who was also murdered right around the same time got no press? ANd the thousands of other pregnant women who are murdered each year?
How come it's always the pretty white girls that spark all the outrage? It happens here all the time with Native girls gone missing or killed, noone ever get as pissed when that happens. They always assume they are druggies or prostitutes, and it doesn't matter as much.
Just things I wonder sometimes............

People feel more sympathetic to people that remind them of themselves, I guess.

Yeah, scenario being that he doesn't skip next year's tour.
But what does this really have to do with the topic at hand?

I was under the impression he was going to retire after this one.

Two things brought the Peterson case into the media darling eye.
One, the fact that it was really the first high profile death/homicide after the fetal death bill was inacted.
And secondly, was Scott Peterson. The fact that he led authorities around acting like he was searching for his wife....the news died down...then when he was arrested...the story was just a writer's dream...and now its escaladed to the top of news...although the Hacking Case and The Democratic Convention have knocked it back a little bit. When Kobe goes back to court in a couple days it will be pushed back even further until they reach a verdict...so dont fret.
