why is the oil for food scandal such a non issue among the board? it seem sto be a giant all encompasing conspiracy involving many nations and the UN in backroom deals with saddam getting rich off the santions that everyone was so upset about killing so many iraqis. I guess iraqis dying is only bad when americans do it.

no moore please

You REALLY think the oil-companies want that issue revisited????????? (http://www.onlinejournal.com/Special_Reports/012904Burns/012904burns.html) :p

"Among unexamined facts about the White House determination to go to war is that, in the weeks leading up to the invasion of Iraq, US oil companies doubled their imports of Iraqi oil. According to government figures, US imports of Iraqi oil, which increased steadily following the November 2002 elections, almost tripled from November 2002 (9.57 million barrels) to February 2003 (25.78 million barrels). Iraqi oil imports almost doubled in the weeks following December 2002.

Indeed, even in March 2003, the month US troops invaded Iraq, US petroleum companies imported 22.9 million barrels of Iraqi oil."

I'm pretty certain they'd rather wait-and-see how Dick Cheney fares, after his energy-conference is investigated!!

After all, if he and Kenny-Boy's efforts to replace Gray Davis (thru ENRON's little scam) doesn't go well, the oil-companies would probably prefer any arrangements (with Hussein) stayed under-the-carpet!! :p

I completely agree. This scandal needs to be investigated thoroughly, but by whom?

I'm not sure who would be able to do a multi-national investigation like this. Maybe Interpol?

I somehow missed this guy's killing. (http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/7/3/131223.shtml) Perhaps we'll never know - especially if they keep getting killed off!
