Still leaves a lot of questions.
like i said, i dont think that these guys are at fault at all . ! i think that they were told to , as al davis would say, "just find something baby ". i think that bush had a plan, and wanted these guys to just say anything that would justify it. most people have a reason, then go to war. bush had a war, and needed a reason. these guys are scapegoats, and i also believe that they will be compensated.....overly ! you see, this plan was also hatched with the understanding that americans have short memories, and soon enough, we will forget what these guys are accused of, then they can run for something again. the cia and fbi are running just fine, until someone needs to have something doctored........hell, we cant blame the president;) so someones gonna have to take the fall...........ollie north, george tenet........
Yes Korg, there always has to be a scapegoat.
One branch of the CIA reported directly and only to Cheney.
What we must be vigilant to in this shake-up is that the CIA is not allowed to report directly to the military.
In the original set-up in 1947-48 was that the CIA would report to a body that was impartial. To make unbiased decisions based upon the information provided.
I do not believe that any one person is capable of making such decisions. Personal views and personal agenda come into play.

Although this does, I’ll admit give some “leeway” on Bush’s sad mistake for invading Iraq on the WMD threat, I would like to point out something.
“Sen. Pat Roberts, a Kansas Republican who heads the committee, told reporters that assessments that Iraq had chemical and biological weapons and could make a nuclear weapon by the end of the decade were wrong.”
Now isn’t it funny how the Republicans lead this investigation, and the majority of the Senate is Republican. Which leads one to conclude that of course they are going to blame the CIA, because they themselves do not want their party to take the major fall, on the fake WMD threat.
I’m not saying that the CIA didn’t give them somewhat false, and fake information. It just seems convenient that the Senate is mostly Republican and the person leading this investigation is Republican.
Another thing to take into consideration is that George Bush bypassed the CIA, when he was getting reports from Chalabi. Which was a huge intelligence provider for our backing of the Iraq War. He was at Bush’s state of the union address, and they met in Iraq. He was the one whispering into Bush’s ear, saying, “Saddam has weapons! He’s going to attack America!” Which was indeed not true, because if at all, those attacks/weapons/ and plans should have happened, when we were invading Iraq.
you know, we wonder why police and polititians are alcoholics and emotionally drained. when you have a system that resemble the blue wall of silence, someone is going to not be able to deal with constantly telling lies......in other words, there may be 100 police or polititians that can do that without a problem, but one guy just cant live with it and will have to tell the truth, and risk being ostrasized or fired.........this cant be easy on the emotions

Although I have no problem with what comes up on this or any forum I begin, I did not intend it in defense or condemnation of President Bush.
The problems I see run along the lines of the use, quality, and reporting of intelligence. We have several federal funded agencys that deal in intelligence. The sharing of this information is,by human nature, guarded within each department.
The receivers of this information seem to be using it for personal political debts and motives.
A central reporting receiver of multi-partisen make-up could be the answer.

And let's not forget all the personal visits that "vice" President Cheney made to the CIA headquarters before the war.
