'Why you ain't,' 'Where you is' ... and I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk," Cosby said then. "And then I heard the father talk ... Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth."........He castigated some blacks, saying that they cannot simply blame whites for problems such as teen pregnancy and high school dropout rates.

And I thought all along that blacks thought everything was the white man's fault!

Bill Cosby, PhD, while right on target, has taken a fair amount of heat for his stance.

it was time for a black star to stand up and say that they (black people) have to help themselves...not blame white folk

Years ago, I was the supervisor for the Concierge Floor at Harrah's hotel in Tahoe. The Concierge Floor is where high rollers and celebrities who play the casino showrooms are housed. During the three years I worked there, Bill Cosby stayed in my rooms for weeks at a time, on three or four occasions.

As much as I think Mr. Cosby is saying something that needs to be said, the man is a complete %$#@! a$$hole in real life, so I tend to look askance at whatever comes out of his mouth, even when I agree with it...

;)

Bill Cosby IS right. Whether he'an a--hole or not has no baring. The black community needs more 'stars', activists and black political leaders to start talking like him. Blacks need to hear this kind of stuff and they need to hear it every single day. Especially those living in the inner city. I've lived in the inner city with blacks. I've seen it first hand. Most of these people have no idea of how to better themselves or they simply don't want to. I've witnessed time and time again the complete and total disregard for decency or self respect. I've seen many times these people treating each other in ways you wouldn't treat an animal. I've seen young children looking up to drug dealers like they're heroes. Blacks need to realized that the only thing that's really holding them back is themselves. Stop listening to dopes and frauds like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Jesse and Al are no leaders. Especially Jesse. Get past the hatred. The hatred has no where to go. Why not turn that into something productive and stop blaming the white man for the problems. 'Cause I've got news for ya: Most white folks don't care either way.
