i have a e-machines D2244 with windows xp pro with yahoo/dsl internet service. The problem is that after 2 days the pc starts slowing down. i check for spyware and viruses. I defrag the hard drive once a week. I do a disk clean up every night. I find no spyware and viruses. When on the internet, i can go to different sites and the service will be fast. Than after 2 days it gets slow. I also lose windows media player after a day. When i restart the pc, I can use the media player than it will be gone the next day. Sometimes i hear a whirling noise coming from the pc. I hope someone can give me a clue. thank you

Overheating? Open up the case, get a can of compressed air, and blow out all the dust.

Or just running out of RAM? Turn off the computer at the end of each day and you'll be fine.
