Here is my work address: dana.westbrook@siemens.com
Hope that works. I am not sure what is happening to my computer at home, have not got too much mail lately which now I have something to research.
Kim - What a great picture of you and the guys. Loved the dress, very flattering!

Hey everyone- Hope you are having a good day. My bfl lbwo must have been more intense than before- I am soooo sore- especially my butt!- Ok you all didn't want to know that, but (no pun intended) I thought I'd share. Actually it is a good thing to still be sore even when I am in week 6!
My coworker who is also doing BFL is trying to get me to start over with her bc both of us have not been the best about the diet part, but have been excellent with the exercise. I can't decide bc I want a sense of completion (but if I haven't been following it verbatim, maybe I should consider)- I don't know- can you tell I'm a Libra!- Any other Libras out there?
My agency is selling brats and pop today as a small fundraiser and we were encouraged to buy some- but I was good boy and only bought a diet soda- I had chicken and rice soup for lunch instead!

Found you!! Are we going to abandon the other thread? I'll go back and post a reminder about this thread when I am done here.
Quickly - the story behind the photo with the guy sticking out his tongue... 'twas the night before Thanksgiving, and all through the bar not a turkey was baking... :D
A couple years ago, a group from work went to the bar at the end of the day before Thanksgiving. The guy is an accountant, and we had a bit of a flirtation going (I was "7 year itch"ing) ;)
Nothing happened, but one of the IS guys brought the new digital camera to the bar that night and caught this "great" pic. Needless to say, DH knows nothing about it.
I'll catch up with you all later, but now I have to run off to court for the afternoon!!

World Cup 1998! My dau was born in 1998 and her face is really like a ball! So that's why I was always worried about my face, which was too round too. But luckily now it's smaller!
My cousin re-formatted my PC 6 months ago and soon some pics're gone forever! I have cute pics of my son too! Oh another ball!!!!!!
My hubby's face is also big ... that's why I chose him. I wanted my face smaller than my hubby .... but I didn't think too carefully, now our products are ... LOL :D =p :what:
See, I'm happy again!
Thanks, Demi! =p Love ya all!

Hi Everyone:
It officially happened. We were without online access for about 4 days due to some weird power surge during a heat storm we had. No matter what I did - online access was unavailable.
I hope I am posting on the right place.
I was so saddened when I was able to get back on....Kari, if you are able to read this, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I truly am. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Can someone please give me Kari's e-mail address so I can send her a quick note?
Hope everyone else is doing well. I am officially "cancelled" with e-diets - and I must admit, I was a little sad, but I'm doing my best to follow the valuable advice they have given me.
We are in crunch week for Fiddler. Lyss has had dress rehearsal all week, but they thankfully gave her the 4th off - Next Thursday is opening night.....for all the complaining I've been doing about the rehearsal schedule, I really do think it's going to be a good show.
I've missed talking to you guys sooo much. Amy, I'm sorry I was a lousy buddy last week - but my hands were tied. Kimmy, I'll try and be a better buddy this week, okay....
Can someone please clarify what thread we post on? Is this the right one? Is Fitness different from Weight? I'm such a dummy with this stuff.
Well, I better check the chicken wings for today's party. I'm kinda partied out.
Oh, Melissa, by the way - your dau is gorgeous. What a beauty!
Love you guys.....Maria

Maria--I hear ya!! sometimes I think....give me a typewriter, and a pack of paper, and screw all this automation junk. I've gotten so dependent on it, I go crazy when I can't log on. but, you're back, so that's good. I am sure all Lyss' hard work will pay off well, with the performance. you must be a nervous wreck!! I know my kids always get embarassed, because Icry at every last performance they do, I'm so proud!! but I tell them to just get over it, bc I'm just that way!! LOL
we have adjusted the buddy list, and are going to start on Monday, partly because of the holiday weekend, partly jsut because :-)
anyways, you can post in either thread, here, I know I for one, read both.
here is a copy of what I posted on the other thread, trying to make sure everyone gets is. also-can everyone shoot me a test message so I can put your addresses in my book, that way if buddies change, I can shoot you a note individually. If ya'll don't want your address given out, no problem, I'll just shoot you a pm from this site. too easy!!
Ok, I'm in the Army, and used to changes. LOTS of them, so this is an easy fix. change 1 to buddy list which will now start MONDAY instead of today, bc lots of folks are kinda quiet on the weekends (that's ok, though, this is a holiday, after all)
revised list is:
Amy and Cara
Dana and Demi
Kara and Kathryn
KIM and MOLLY
MARIA and STACEY
Patty and Tom
CHANGES ARE IN CAPS.

Our app is 12:30 and i have NO idea how long it will take us. Will you be around in the afternoon? Maybe we can have coffee or something. It would be great to meet! Just let me know what will work for you....
I hope everyone is having a good Saturday! We are going to see Bourne Identity today, which I heard was pretty good.

Dear Team,
I'm quite confused now about posting in 3 instead of 2 threads! LOL
Anyway, it makes me happy too that there're a lot to read. When I thought, 'Is that all? We're quite inactive ....' Hey you guys have posted in another thread! The Weight is already very long, may I suggest that we post here only (other than eDiets if you're a member of course!) How's that sound?
Kathryn, happy birthday! Two b/d gals soon this month... I do remember. Hehe
Maria, I'm sure your dau's performance will be very successful. You must be very proud of Lyss.
Kim and Cara, wow, you two will be going to meet! When's my turn meeting with some of you ......
Patti and Maria, thanks! My dau is very close to me. I'm very close to my mom too. Yesterday I visited my parents with my kids. This morning I told my dau when she grows up, I would be happy to see her bringing her kids to visit me calling me grandma. You know what she said? "No, I don't want to have kids... I don't want a big belly!' LOL
Perhaps mine has scared her too much .....
Okay, happy Sat night! It's a sunny Sunday morning here. DH is at work (as usual). Kids are playing and waiting for their mom to finish posting so that they can play computer game. Haha, they know posting is very important to their mom! Good kids! They are very patient.
Wish you all success on next week's buddy system! I can't join yet .... though I need it. I know ...

Okay, Demi, I've got it.....me and Stacy are partners next week - love the Monday start - I was pathetic all week, so my mantra has been, "Monday, Monday, Monday"...
Had fun at the party yesterday although the weather did not really cooperate....as I said I'm really partied out and look forward to getting back on track.
Weird thoughts in my head lately.....Lyss is my only child, she'll be 10 in January, and after she was born, I really didn't think I wanted any more - even tho I'm from a family of 5 - I'm the "baby" and loved being in a big family. Each of my sisters (I have three) have three or four kids - Nancy has three girls, Cindy has three girls, Karen has three boys and a girl, and my brother has three kids - two boys and a girl....Lyss said to me the other night - "mom, when I have kids, they won't have any aunts and uncles or cousins". So I said, "do you not like being an only child?" and she said, "well, I do get lonely sometimes, but it's okay". I just was silent for a while, and started thinking - was that really selfish of me not to give her a brother or a sister? Mark wanted to, and I kept putting it off saying I wasnt' ready - well here we are 9 and a half years later and I feel bad about not doing it, but wondering now if it's too late...I am 39, Mark's 45.I don't know...just confused lately....any advice from you guys out there??? I know this has nothing to do with being fit or anything, but I haven't talked to anyone about this....and you guys are my sounding board.
Anyway, sorry to go on and on, but now it's time to get ready, for, yes, you guessed it, a dress rehearsal.
Talk to you all later. xoMaria
Kimmystar
07-07-2002, 11:45 AM
Maria,
First of all, you shouldn't feel like its too late to try to have another child, talk with your doctor and see what he says. Each person's situation is different. Some people can have them into their 40s, some can't. You have NO idea where you fall until you try! If you decide that you want another one, that is! :)
Secondly, I don't think you should feel selfish for having an only child. You made your decision based on the information that you had at the time, how you felt, how you think you would feel about having another child. If you didn't feel, ready, then you did the right thing. I don't mean to get religious, so please excuse me if I offend anyone, but I don't believe God or whomever you look to for guidance, would think you did the wrong thing. He or She knows that we always make the best decision that we believe is right. Now, if you want to have more now, and you think its the right thing, you can try again, or you can adopt if you want. There's lots of options. So DON'T feel bad about not having more! You have a right to whatever you choose.
The other thing is this: Children with siblings (i have 2) often feel lonely, or their siblings get on their nerves and they WISH they were an only child! So, no life is perfect for a child (in their eyes!). The grass is ALWAYS greener, no matter what you do. It sounds like Lyss is a wonderful girl and a great daughter! You are lucky to have her! :)
Anyway, whatever you decide to do, we will support you! :)
Good luck!
Love,
Kim

let's see if the posting notices start working again....
It's a great Wednesday morning.
I am going with the family to Disney World the first week of December - actually arriving the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Tom is going to try to get down there too so we can meet. Sounds like Melisa will be able to swing it also, but she is getting a new boss and can't commit just yet.
Patti says she has family in the area, but we haven't heard whether she can get the time off - how about it Patti?
Kim is willing to meet someone at Disney Land in California if that is more convenient for anyone...
Boy, I'm just making promises for everyone this morning, aren't I? :?
Hope to see you all here soon.
I can't find the "post a pic" option, so I'll play around with it a bit...

I am so glad the allforums is up again! I really liked it a lot. I don't see where we can load pics anymore, though. We'll see. Anyway, I am very busy getting ready for my move to LA in the middle of Sept. Also, CB and I are going to a wedding in NYC for a friend of his. It should be fun! Since I used to live there, I am going to stay a couple more days after the wedding to see my friends and cousins that I won't see for a while after I move to the West Coast! :)
I could meet anyone at Disney land that is interested, like Stacey said since it is just around the corner. It will be hard for me to commit to going back to the east coast after i move to LA, since i have to spend so much moving and etc. So, it will have to be Disney land in CA. So unfortunately I will miss everyone in Florida! Oh well!
Hope everyone is doing well with the challenge! :D

Gang! The loves of my life! We are together again under the allforums umbrella!
Busy here, as usual. DS is getting his wisdom teeth out tomorrow, so it's back to La Crosse, WI for that. Then, on Friday, I'm heading out early to my dad's. I have a few things to accomplish between now and then, including a big quilt guild project that needs to be done before I leave.
I feel better already, now that I'm back to eating the right foods. My whole system seems to be heaving a sigh of relief, and I can feel my energy level returning. I am just s-o-l-d on the meal plan as being a healthy eating choice. I don't know how faithful I'm going to be with recording my daily progress, as I don't think I can keep myself going to this many websites. However, I may try to do an abbreviated version of it, where I will report if I kept within my calorie range. It took a lot of time to figure out how many calories I actually consumed!
It's so great to be back in contact with Molly, Kim, Cara, Maria, Dana, et.al. I enjoy you all so much! :D
Gotta go. That durned project is staring at me.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!
Yee HA! Back up and running!! I've missed you guys like crazy, but somehow I must have known that we'd be up again, because I went for a walk tonite out of guilt for not having worked out in FOREVER!!
First of all, KIMMY you sweetheart! Thanks so much for your very kind words and for everyone else's good thoughts as well. Cara and I were emailing eachother and I told her I was bummed that I couldn't talk to you guys about it b/c the dang site was down. We're going to Disney in October!! DANG!! I so wish I could go when you guys are going, but there's no way Mark can get the time in November, so I think you should all change your plans and go down in October!!!!! Anyway, I'm thinking that if I'm still feeling confused about having another baby, I'll talk to my OBG when we get home, and see what happens. Okay, these emoticons are staring at me. They're very silly....
CAN YOU GUYS BELIEVE FIDDLER IS OVER?????? I couldn't even talk to you guys during the run! But I must say, it was soooo very, very good! For all the complaining I did, it was worth it! They sold out all 15 performances, of which I was in the audience for three of them, and a backstage mom for the other 12! Next year is Sound of Music and yup, the child wants to audition for that one too! I can just hear her singing around the house now....."How do you solve a problem like Maria"....or Doe a deer, a female deer.....
OKAY.....HOW ON EARTH DID THEY KICK CHRISTINA OFF AMERICAN IDOL WHEN CLEARLY IT WAS NIKKI OR R.J. WHO NEEDED TO GO???????? THAT WAS SO WRONG!!!! Yes, I am addicted to American Idol. That Simon is so very nasty.
Well, I just wanted to say hi to my beautiful friends! Talk to you all soon.....Hey, as soon as someone figures out how to do the picture thing, let me know

Good morning to all my All Forums friends- I thought that today was going to be a non-communication day since I had problems getting a connection this morning.
Jimmy - We're very happy to be back....what took so long?? :D
Kari - I know how you must feel, I made a decision to stick to my BFL program to a tee (or close enought) for the last three weeks on Monday. I even dropped off one meal (I think that was holding me back). I feel 100% better!!! I am very motivated and also very encouraged especially by your energy...I feel it!!!
Maria - So good to hear from you. I was actually thinking about you on the way into work this morning. I was involved in theatre in JHS, HS and college (lighting design and stage management). We did Sound of Music. It has taken me many years to get over the trauma. I can finally watch the movie on tv.
Kimmy - Should we try and get together while you're in NY???? I'm finally reading Here on Earth (I'm about half way through it) and I'm enjoying it very much. Thanks for the recommendation.
Molly - Hi-I was thinking about you too......esp about your Mom. I hope that everything is well out there on the West coast.
Everyone else Hi- I'm using today (quiet for now in the office) to catch up. I'd like to try and take a day or two off with my DS before the end of the summer.

Maria, Molly,
Hey I'm hooked on American Idol also. I was very surprised that Christina got the boot. Although, I don't think she would have made it too much longer. RJ lives in Cumming, GA and so do I! Tamyra lives in Norcross, GA which is about 25 miles from Cumming. How weird. So they are both the favorites around here. Personally, I love Kelly!

Okay, I can't believe that Christina got kicked out! She was totally beautiful and that RJ guy should have gotten kicked out! What was that about? Anyway Kelly has an AMAZING voice, but she needs a stylist and quick! What is UP with her style? She needs some MAJOR hair, makeup and fashion help! I think Nikki is very stylish and also has a great voice. Its between the 2 of them for me. Nikki first and Kelly (after a makeover) second.
Okay, I am off!
I will catch up with you guys later!
Love,
Kim
PS I am doing ok with eating this week...I am up a pound and a half this week, but i am pmsing, so i'm sure it will be down next week.

Hey everyone! It is great to see you are all still around! My last day offially on e-diets is tomorrow but I have not posted in a while!
Well this will be short as I am leaving to go to Texas for a funeral. Greg's grandmother died yesterday  What a marvelous lady!
Glad to hear everyone is doing well and I will catch up with you after Wednesday!

This has got to be quick because it's almost quitting time for me.
I've been wondering why this thread has been so quiet so thought I'd check in, and see that we've added 2 pages since I last posted
don't know why I didn't get any notices... (there's a good use for this face - hehe)
hopefully I'll get the notices again now - I suspect it has something to do with not letting the site automatically log me in when I come to check out the new postings... :(
Have a great weekend! Is anyone here joining us on the 10 day meal plan challenge?

Hi Kids:
Just a quick one from your friend in NH. Just got back from Family Gap Day. My sister Cindy works there - basically to get her kids clothes - no paycheck to speak of!!HAHAHA - and twice a year they have Gap Day when you get get an xtra 30% off their already ridiculously high prices.
So of course I go in there and scan the clearance racks and did pretty good I must say. Lyss is pretty much all set for school for now. I got her some shorts and capris as they go back to school on August 28th, so I'm not about to start buying sweaters.....
How's everyone?????
Yes, Kelly and Tamara are my faves. I think it will be down to them in the final weeks. I think they're both very talented....Oops, sorry Molly, I forget you're out West and in a different time zone. I shall zip my lip until I know for sure that you've heard or soon who was the latest to get the heave ho.....
Went out with my sisters last night and saw Goldmember. I laughed my a** off. Such a goofy, silly movie, but it was sooooo funny.
Okay, Lyss wants to model all of her new duds, so I 'm off. Talk to you all soon.

Hi, all!!
I am back to work after a much needed vacation!! We had a great time which started with a tow truck ride on day one (long story), but ended with loads of memories of LegoLand, SeaWorld, SanDiego Zoo, and beautiful San Diego (lots of sunburn, too!!) My kids are definately clinging to me like there is no tomorrow, but that is just fine with me!! It is great to be home. Now the work begins. today is full of dreaded meetings, and tomorrow is a 4.1 mile Brigade run!! (I'll be the one falling out, I am sure.) time to get busy!!! Have gained a bit, but hopefully not too much damage. I am determined to get back into the gown I bought for NewYears, Before I found out I was pregnant with my son. The tag is still on it, almost 5 years later. IT WILL FIT BY THIS NEW YEARS, even if it means paying a tailor to MAKE it fit!! LOL.
gtg for now, will update you all later with a vacation pic!!
have a great day, everyone!!

Hey Ladies and Gent,
Just checking in to say hi. Demi, you sound so very happy to be back with your family, I'm so glad for you!!!
American Idol tonight, who will bring down the house?
I went to step class yesterday and it felt SO good! Haven't taken a step class in month. I did notice in the mirror my weight loss and muscle gain since the last time I've been though (pre-Ediets). I felt happy that I could see the results!!!
Hope you're all having a great day

Good morning! I just got back from a good run. The weather is cool and foggy this a.m., so it's beginning to look like back-to-school around here. It is so odd that we aren't registering kids with the local schools this year! To borrow a phrase from Lyss's most recent production, "Sunrise, Sunset..." You are all so kind to let me go on about this life stage release. It gets to me!
I got home yesterday from 5 days with my dad. It is so hard to leave him when the time comes, and I thought about staying until the weekend. We both decided that wouldn't change anything, just prolong it. DD (Morgan) is packing up to move into an apt. near campus in Iowa City (U of I), and DD (Tad) is deer-in-the-headlights over his first year of college. I'm needed at home. First on the agenda is to scoop out this pigsty to which I returned.
I made several eDiets meals ahead and left them with my dad in the freezer. We pretty much ate eDiets (I even borrowed my MILs little Weber grill and we had grilled chicken sandwiches and chicken kabobs). However, he had gone out and purchased sweet corn from a farmer's stand, and he made me homemade bread, to treat me. I just ate them and raved about him spoiling me. Also, there is a great little old-fashioned ice cream "window" there, where my dad always took us after piano lessons when I was a girl. I didn't refuse when it was time for a Grahams. Otherwise, I did fine. When I got home last night, I only had to reheat some of the meals I made ahead and left here -- which were twice ignored for carry-out pizza.
So, that catches me up a little bit. It's good to have All Forums back so we can all reconnect. Do you all know about the "challenge" we're doing together on the thread? We are doing this challenge as a "stick with eDiets meal plan". We have all done so well with the challenges that focus on exercise, but all of us have been complaining about not being very good about our eating. We are all pretty well fired up, and are starting off with a mini-challenge that goes until August 19th (someone help me if I got the date wrong). There will be a 21-day challenge for the meal plan in Sept., and some of us are waiting out the first one and picking up with the second one. If anyone wants to join in, you can let Stacey know. She's being soooo great with corraling us for this one.
Better dash. Long-winded again. Hope to chat with some of you soon!
Much love,
Kari

Most of us should have connected on the Yahoo Groups board, but I agree that it is cumbersome to get into. We haven't figured out yet how to attach our pix on this board again... :?
However, the feature that we seem to like the best the notices for new posts - which I think Yahoo does best.
I would suggest that we each spend a little time figuring out how to post and view pix here before we make a decision on which one we will abandon.
I contacted the webmaster for allforums, and he is still considering new software which may make posting pix easier - but he didn't commit to any changes.
The trick to attaching an image is that it has to be already stored on the web somewhere, you can't download it from your computer. I was going to try to attach one of the pix that Melisa has on Yahoo, but her site is now in Chinese...
I'll try to play with this later today.

Hello everyone!
I'm back from NYC....got in yesterday morning. The wedding was really beautiful. Plus I got to see my cousins and their kids...remember the pic that I posted a little while back? Anyway, they are too cute and grown up!
Didn't watch what I was eating at ALL, but I only gained a pound, so I should be able to drop that this week....we'll see, but I'm not too worried.
How is everyone doing? I personally like the allforums site better, no site is perfect, we just have to pick one and use it! :D
So, its official, I am moving to LA on September 14th weekend. My car was shipped this weekend, and we are confirming the movers today! CB and I are putting off setting a date until his job situation is more settled. His contract work isn't as steady as he hoped, and he is really worried about it, so we'll see. Also, there are some openings in NYC that he is up for, so we may be moving again!
Demi: Glad to see that you're back...don't worry if you've gained...you deserved to spend time reconnecting with family without worrying about ediets. Sounds like you're back on track and will drop them soon! I know you are enjoying the time with your family! They missed you and are glad that their mom and wife is back!
Molly: I don't watch American Idol religiously....I only check in on Wed to see who gets kicked off...I get kinda bored with the performances EVERY week....so I just watch the recap and see who leaves....I wonder who it will be this week??? How are you otherwise? We need to catch up. How is your mom, friends and DH? I hope everyone is well....we will DEFINITELY have to hook up, hopefully sometime this year...
Kari: You sound great, as usual! It sounds like you are doing REALLY well with the meals! I know you enjoyed spending time with your dad, and I can imagine how hard it was to leave him.....but I know he was glad to spend the time that he had with you :-)
Stacey: Ring leader! How is the challenge going? How is everyone on the other thread doing with it? I probably won't join, as I am ok maintaining, but I am cheering everyone on!!!!
Amy: I'm glad you are enjoying the book! I loved it! Sorry I missed you in NYC, I never got an email from you and I didn't have your numbers. Maybe next time! :)
Kathryn: Sorry we didn't catch up in NYC, too! Maybe another trip. :)
Dana: Good to hear from you! We missed you! How is your "twin" daughter and DH?
Tom: What's up, stranger?????
Hello to everyone I missed!

Kimmy-I couldn't get back online Friday before you left to get your email address so we could try and get together. I was bummed out. I hope that you had a great time, the weather was great. I finally finished the book. Thanks for the recommendation (stayed up really late last night to finish-does that sound familar?)

Me again. Hey, I'm with you guys on using All Forums. I agree with Molly about not liking to have the e-mail box so clogged. Now to figure out how to answer everyone since we can't click back and forth. I'll try my word processing program, but since I use Corel, it sometimes comes out looking funny.
It is so good to be in touch with everyone again. I have missed hearing from Dana, Molly, Kimmy, Cara, and Maria, since you guys aren't on the eDiets thread anymore. It sounds like most of us have done a great job of changing habits and are maintaining pretty well. I like knowing I can drop a few pounds if they creep up on me, without too much muss or fuss. It helps to have such a supportive group.
I'm sorta in on the challenge on the thread, and I love the new motivation it has given me. I want to drop about 5 lbs (which I had gained on purpose earlier in the summer), and gauge as I go where I feel the best. The eDiets plan is so cool for being able to "fine tune" my goals.
I was heading back to some housework, but I'm not very motivated now. These are my "vacation" days, in a way, before I start my new job. Today just feels like a lazy day to me, so I may call it a wash and take a snooze. I'm cooking tonight, and am even making some whole grain bread. I'll check for chatters online before I head for the couch. Whatta life.
Love,
Kari

Hi everyone! Just like a few of you I haven't received any notices of posts. I just thought I'd check and wow there has been some activity. It's been great hearing from those of you who left Ediets.
Demi - I'm so happy for you. I really miss your posts.
Molly - sounds like you are doing great. American Idol...I think Niki may get the boot tonight. RJ's probably not too far behind. It's a toss up for me as to who I want to win. I love Kelli and Tamyra equally. Of course Tamyra is an Atlantan!
Kim - good luck with your move. Sounds exciting.
Dana - I was wondering where you have been. Be sure to keep in touch. I still have your yoga video so I'll need to get that back to you. I've tried it out a few times and really like it. It dosen't feel like "exercise" to me though.
Kari - I wish I could be as disiplined as you in planning and cooking your Ediets meals. It would be great to have them in the freezer and ready to go. The challenge has helped me to eat more Ediets stuff than I was. Still not there 100%. Too much yogurt for me!
Cara - Hi. We've missed you too on the thread.
I know I'm missing some folks. I'm trying to type quickly before I leave work. Not much new in my life. My son Ryan started school on Monday. He's a senior this year. That's pretty exciting to me! I'm in on the challenge and I'm still trying to lose my last 15 pounds!
Take care and nice to chat with you.

Howdy Folks
It really is good to hear from everyone here, seems like we're getting back in the loop. I'm getting notices, but just like before, I won't get any additional notices until I check in. Are some of you not getting notices at all :?:
Kim - Glad you're back and had a great time!!
Dana – Sorry to hear about Greg’s grandmother. I hope the family is dealing with it ok.
Maria – I will be out of my house from 8:00 your time through this evening. Having dinner at my dad’s, I’m hoping they let me watch the show. I only saw the last 5 minutes last night, didn’t think Nikki sounded good at all! The judges agreed with me it seems! I’m going to have to go see Goldmember, sounds hilarious! :D
Kari – Enjoy the rest of your time off, before you start the new job. However, I think you’re going to love that position, it’ll feel like vacation for you! How are you feeling about Morgan moving out?
Stacey – it is definitely a bummer that we can’t get pictures here. I hope he changes it soon, that was so fun before!
Amy – Hi! I’m doing really well. My mom is getting stronger every day and has finally told my step-dad that she saw a lawyer, she definitely needed to fill him in, since he was acting like they were some happy couple!
Cara – Any more lucky with the notices??
Patti – I agree that Nikki and RJ are the next two to go. It’ll be tough in the end, but I can’t imagine how Kelly and Tamyra won’t be the final ones. I do agree with Kim (I think Kim said it) that Kelly needs some hair work. Plus when they show her in the behind the scenes stuff, she never has make up on, but damn is she talented!!
Okay, I’m off. Things are pretty good here, I’m pursuing a few potential job opportunities, but nothing that will happen right away. I don’t want to jinx myself by talking about anything too much here, so I’ll share if there is news one way or the other!

Hi Kids!!!!
SUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Yowsa is it hot! Okay, so WHY didn't you all come over the other night when at 1:30 in the a.m. I lost my power in this blistering heat wave???? So there I was, asleep, mind you NOT with the A.C. on as I wouldn't be able to hear anything - and Mark AND Lyss were away (Mark is on business and Lyss was staying at her gram-ma-ma's for a sleep over) and Maxine Louise the dog was downstairs, and suddenly - NOTHING!!!!! I thought my heart would pop out of my chest! Did I have any lighting implements upstairs? No I did not...Did I have a flashlight? No I did not. So, I somehow made my way downstairs and checked to make sure that my neighborhood was out as well, which it was...The short end of my "Jamie Lee Curtis" nightmare story is - the Power didn't come back on until 4:00!!!!! No, I did not sleep well. I was quite afraid. What a baby, huh?
Mark comes home tonite, and Lyss is still sleeping over various relatives houses, so dinner has been on the money e-diets style. I have been really good this week. Quite happy about that.
How is everyone???? I'm so glad to be back in touch with you all!
Molly, yes, Nikki was not good last night, but to be honest, I didn't really like any of those Burt Bacharach songs - and I normally DO like his stuff - but why didn't someone sing "What the world needs now...." or "I say a little prayer for you?" or something like that? Are you too young to know his stuff? You little peanut, you!!!! HAHAHA
Well, I'd write longer but it's BLOODY HOT in this computer room and I need to cool off!
Love and hugs to you all....Maria : )
oh, for what it's worth - I'm willing to stick it out w/ All Forums as well. I had a tough time with Yahoo...but whatever you guys want to do

Wahooo! We're starting to look and sound like the old thread! Of course, it really helps when Maria is willing to give us a play-by-play of her aborted encounter with Jason. I know *I* was dripping with perspiration in anticipation of what could have been her final moments on this earth (as a non-vampire or non-zombie  ). OR, perhaps it was the equally apt description of the sweltering heat she had to endure as the result of the power outage. Lady, you are one funny cookie!!
I was invited out for breakfast with my summer co-workers. The place is only open on Fridays, and it's in the old Sale Barn. I'm not a farm person, but I guess in rural areas, people take their cattle, pigs, sheep, whatever to the Sale Barn to sell once/week. The lady who cooks for the Sale Barn is legendary, and so everyone in our group wanted to go there. I had a cinnamon roll. I'm hoping my 2.5 mile run, and the fact that I walked to and from the Sale Barn will help assinate some of the calories. I'm joining the eDiets meal plan challenge in Sept., so I don't have to report my sins quite yet. However, at that time I am determined to be the first person to reach 21 consecutive days on the Meal Plan! Yowza! :P
Okay, enough Fun With Kari and the Emoticons. Time to get busy. I got a lot of quilt marking done last night, so today I plan to quilt, quilt, quilt! Oh, yeah. I'm making eDiets grilled hamburgers for lunch! Ooooo-weeeeee!

Hi everyone here!!
I am having a terrible day......not eating wise just in general. I'm extremely angry at a work situation and have become a bi$%# on wheels. Several weeks ago I requested an additional week vacation, I did not think that this is an unreasonable request esp because I'm supposed to be a "professional". My request has gone unaddressed. I just found out this morning that a co-worker who has worked here less time just got an extra weeks vacation so now I am the
Besides the fact that I'm underpaid and overworked.
Okay- Felt good to vent, I will go and eat steamed veggies and chicken again.....save my calories for drinks this evening with friends.....
Thanks for "listening'

Amy, we are with you all the way. Venting is good for the soul -- and the mental health.
Crash, Boom, Bang! It rained all night last night! It is so cool these days, it hardly seems like August in Iowa. We usually swelter in August, so I guess the global warming theory gets a big raspberry from us. I remember last summer sitting at ball games in sweatshirts-- in July! I brought quilts along to work on at the game, it was so cool.
All is quiet around the house this morning. I haven't done any exercising yet, and it's after 9:00. That means I'm 4 hours behind my usual schedule. Eeek! I sort of feel like taking the day off ( haven't done that in ages), but I need to do my PT back exercises, so once I get started, I usually just keep going. I'm getting hungry for breakfast, however, so I'd better get moving. Hungar is a good motivator to bail on the whole plan.
Just checking in to say "hi" and see if I'll get any notices of new postings. Have a good Saturday!

Hey everyone! I am hopefully back! Things are stettling down over here and I can actually get back to normal.
It is so nice to see all the names again! Maria, you are so funny, it is great to read your posts, they usually make me laugh and at the times when I need them most.
Cara - I know you will have a great time at the beach. Have to get that last blast of summer in while we can. My DD started school last week :( It is now back to the same routine, getting up at 5:15! Her bus comes at 6:35 in the morning, really people she is only 9 and is on the bus for over an hour! It really makes morning time fun, fun, fun!
Tom - It is good to see you are back over on this thread. How is your BFL doing? I have not been on e-diets for a while and wanted to see how it was going? Same with all of our other BFL'ers! I started the program the week DH Grandmother passed away, which resulted in eating weird foods and no exercise. Oh well, I will begin again today, with hopefully no interuptions!
I can totally relate to the extra week of vacation! I had to fight for mine, it took a while but I did finally get the extra week! I will be sending positive thoughts to you!
Well I better get going! Heres hoping everyone has a great Monday!

Hi, all! Dana, it was so good to hear from you again! I am sorry about the loss of your husband's grandmother. It is always hard to say goodbye, no matter how long they have been with us.
Cara, I'm green about you getting to go to the beach! The one thing I bemoan about living in land-locked Iowa is NO OCEANS! We have lovely beaches near here, of course, because we are only 15 miles from the Minnesota border ("Land of 10,000 Lakes), and the Mississippi River is only 40 minutes from my house. However, I love the water. Perhaps if we had a beach near here, I'd get nothing done. I can just hang at a beach all day.
Guys, I had the greatest phone conversation last night! My best friend from junior high/high school and I got on the phone for the first time in YEARS, and we just picked up where we'd left off. She lives in Iowa City now, and her family has several restaurants. When DH took DD to Iowa City to move her in on Saturday, they ate at one of those restaurants. I thought, "It's silly I've lost touch with Marian", so I got her phone number and gave her a call. We are both brand new empty-nesters, so we're hoping we can reconnect now. With one kid in Iowa City, we probably WILL get to see each other. Such fun!
I'm looking forward to the eDiets meal challenge in Sept. I am holding my own, but I'd like to lose a few pounds again. I'm not following any plan very carefully now, so if I keep this up, I'm going to gain! Time to get back on the wagon. For starters, let's see if I can drink all my water this week. I really went downhill on that last week. Plus, PMSing (Molly? You there? Hi!). DH video-ed me in the most hilarious Fredericks of Hollywood dress he ordered me (which I ordered HIM to send back - it was just tooo funny), so I was glad to see I didn't look all THAT bad! LOL You should have seen the cleavage on that thing, and it was danceskin-tight. Stretchy hot pink lace. I couldn't stop laughing! I put on my lime green mules with it for the video. Guys! It was roll-on-the-floor funny! Really, I should dress like that as the tour director, huh?
Hi to Kimmy, Maria, and all the other friends still on the thread. It is so good to have you only an e-mail away!
Gotta dash. It's weigh-in report day on eDiets. I just keep putting down the same weight -- haven't shown a loss in weeks! Just don't want to show a significant gain, either. Better do some grocery shopping today! More later.
Much love,
Kari

Dana - Tom, Amy & I are going to start BFL on Sept 3rd (Tues) if you want to join in with us. Tom & Amy are going for round 2, I will be starting round 1.
BTW - some of you may have noticed that I just ordered the BFL book from Amazon.com. Sorry about the ads that went out to everyone from red carpet on Yahoo. I thought it would just give everyone notice of the discount in case anyone else was interested in BFL - I had no idea the rest of those ads would be there.... Can you see it if you click on it??

Hey Stacey - I, alas, could not click on the picture.....wahhhhh.....is it my piece 'o crap computer? Or did any of you other guys not see it either????
If that's the case, then, look here's a picture of me at 102 pounds....
X (picture here)
Isn't it beautiful???? Aren't I soooo trim? What????? You can't see it??? Oh, you poor things! You missed the opportunity to see me at my most beautiful and thin!!!! Hee Hee.....
Now, the child is in here reading whilst I type. Lyss do you have anything to say to mom's friends? Lyss says "hi everybody. How are you doing? I despise the summer because it went by wickid quickly. just kidding. happy trails. love alyssa" Yes, that was actually typed by her. So now you've had the chance to "read" what she sounds like. Lovely child, who is now falling asleep on the rug....sigh....
Kari, how nice to catch up with your gal pal!!! A true friend is one who you haven't talked to for years, but when you do, it seems like no time has gone by....I hope you have a chance to meet her!
Stacey, you've been sooo sweet sending me the postings from ediets - but unfortunately, my computer doesn't always connect me over there when I click on!!! It is sooo slow, so now that allforums is up and running again, it's okay if you don't send me the ediets postings (as long as you all keep me up to date as to our friends over there!) Thanks for being such a doll about keeping me updated!
Hello Dana! So nice to hear from you too!!
I am EXTREMELY PMSing!!! Horrible human being to be around and as bloated as all get out.
Well, I better go get this little rascal off to bed.....xo to all of you. Maria : )

Okay, MOVING stinks!!! I can't stand it! Once it looks like everything is almost done, there's something else i forgot to pack! It is taking FOREVER! Oh well! I will be SO glad when I am there already. I will be a better poster after I move. I had to ship my computer to LA bc Asher needs it for work, so I don't have a computer at home anymore, so when I have a minute to post, I always realize...."duh...i don't have a computer anymore!" The movers will be here on Saturday, and then i am off to Martha's Vineyard next Tuesday, so I will be able to RELAX next week! Then its another 2 weeks in Durham living out of a suitcase at my sister's apartment before i'm off to LA! I can't wait!
Ok, that's it for me! no more whining! Hello everyone! Maria, Lyss sounds adorable! I just love the language kids use! :) Hello, Kari, Stacey, Cara, Tom, Dana, Molly and everyone else! I am at work, so I gotta run, but please keep me in your prayers that this move will go off without a hitch! :-)
Love,
Kim
PS I am up to 122 from 120, I have gained like 2 lbs, but my pots are all packed up, so I will have to try to be better eating good takeout and like subway sandwiches and etc until i move in with my sister and can have some control again. :-)

Maria - it's always so much fun to hear from you! Lyss sounds a little more grown-up than I pictured her. :P BTW - I'll stop the "forwards" to you, and hopefully we'll pick up on this thread a bit more.
I see that my pic of Melisa didn't work out. Hmmm... I'll have to do a little more research. Demi, where are you? You were always our wizard
I'll check back later. Have a Terrific Tuesday everyone!

Hola, amigas y amigo. Maria, count me in on the PMS dealie. I am also at the peri-menopausal stage-of-life, which must contribute to my feelings of Live-Is-Blahsville. I hope things turn around TODAY, as the calendar promises. Perhaps I'll skip a month (as I did right after I started taking the tamoxifen for my non-breast cancer). I am just having a hard time making the synapses click.
Not much to report. I'm tripping through the scattering of my children and other major life-changes will all the aplomb of a wet kitten. I really think I should menstruate now. Therein lies the blockage that prevents my general cheerful outlook from taking center stage. Whew! Thanks for being there, gang!
Love,

Just a quick hello here also.
I haven't been able to post since Friday...I had a waste of time management seminar yesterday.
I'll read more later.....Hope everyone is well... Oh, yes we are definitely starting a new BFL round in Sept for those who want to join us.
Gotta hop...
Love ya all

Hi Gang!
Just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone. Again, I've been excellent at exercise; step class, upper and lower body workouts, tennis with DH, but the food choices still need work. I just checked Ediets and for some reason they are still letting me in, but not charging me. They only cancelled my hubby's membership. I'm afriad to use it though since I feel they'll back charge me at some point if they realize I was using the boards and meals.
Kari - Sorry, no PMS for me. Since I'm off the BC and have no sense of normalcy, I've been skipping a month it seems. I've never been a regular ovulator. I hope your blockage ends soon!
Kim - Ugh! Moving is dreadful!! Hopefully things go smoothly and you'll be in that nice new place with CB soon! I can't wait to meet up with you out here!!
Maria - you are just a riot. Lyss sounds very cute. The word "wicked" kills me. Then I think of all the terms I used as a kid "Gag me with a spoon!" "RAD!" "Totally Awesome!" Oh boy . . .
Stacey - are you finally getting the notices now? Sure hope so!
Tom - come back and post more, you seem to have disappeared.
Melisa - Are you still checking in or do you have too many threads to read now?
Dana - Good to hear from you. School, already? Poor kids
Demi - We miss you
Amy - when I first read your post I thought you said a "waste management" seminar and I was wondering what that had to do with being a CPA!!!
Take care everyone! I'm going to try and be extra good this week!!!

Hi Kids:
Well, Kari, the bloodletting began for me today - full force whilst at work. Lovely. The next time I go see my OBG, I'm going to ask if there's anything I can do about the PMSing I've been having lately. I am truly a scary individual and my breasts were so incredibly tender - it was like how they feel when your milk comes in after having wee ones - HONEST - they've been so very sore, on top of which they start hurting it seems right after I ovulate......Have I frightened anyone? Sorry for my frankness, but it's you guys so I don't care.
Hey Miss Molly! Good to hear from you, cutie. Wait, did I miss something? Are you off BC for any particular reason? Are you guys getting pregnant?
Oh, Kimmy, you poor sweetie with moving.....but once you get there you'll be okay, right? Hey, I used to live about 1.5 hours from the Vineyard. Dont you just love it there...Very cool and laid back. Going over to the island, if you have a calm day, is sooo much fun. I haven't been over there for a while, and haven't been to P-town in a couple of years either - it's really become a "gawking" place where a lot of people just go over there to stare at the couples who are of the same gender....I just go over there for the cool shops!!!! Have a blast!
Hey Stace - sorry the pic of Melissa didn't come out. I couldn't begin to tell ya how to make it work!
Good news from work....got a $1,500 bonus today for doing some extra stuff around the office. Totally unexpected and greatly appreciated as I have my eye on an entertainment center that's about $1800 - been checking North Carolina for a bargain, but can't seem to find one I like as well - Mark is more on the "we should really get a new computer" thing, but I have my priorities for heaven sake.... Anyway, I really think it will go in the Disney fund! It made for a nice day, even though I was still a b****.
Hello Amy! So nice to hear from you too!!! I am so right there with you with Waste of time management seminars...I am not a fan. I'm sure you were thinking of a million other things you could have been doing! lol
Oh well, I'm off to the land of nod.
xoMaria
P.S. Who should get kicked off American Idol now? What do ya think, Molly, Kimmy? Anyone else watching it?

Happy wednesday,
I just read thru the posts, you all just crack me up.
Been really busy with work and not able to check in here everyday, miss those of you that are off ediets.
Kim, I know the moving blues, but they will be over, and enjoy your time in the Vinyard.
I have been right along with you guys PMSing.
Amy, Waste management is another field, isnt it?
I know I can find many other uses for my time.
Stacey, thanks for the info on the BFL book, I ordered it and should receive it at the end of Aug. Not sure if I would be ready to start with you guys by the 3rd, but I can be an unofficial member, and keep along when I can. Another book i was tempted to order was 8 minutes a day something or other, to keep you fit. Also sounded good, but one thing at a time. :)
Well let me check in at ediets before I get back to work this morning. Check in with you all soon

Hi everyone!! Missed you all. :D
I really enjoy reading your posts...Kimmy I know for a fact that moving stinks...I'm the "Queen of the Move" (5 times with parents before college, 2 times while married and 3 times after not being married anymore). My new theory is going to be throw it out don't move it. The funny thing is that out of 10 moves I've only lived in 6 different towns (my parents would keep moving back.) I can't imagine what a long-distance move would be like. Hang in there.
Molly- HUmmmmm, I'm wondering the same thing. I hope that your lack of BC is for good reasons and not medical reasons.
Okay, I can't remember what else I was going to say....esp since I can't access prior postings. Hi to Maria (and Lyss), Kathryn and Kari.
I've been a good girl basically over the last couple of weeks, but today I seem to be going into carb overload. I don't think that I went over on my calories but, I have not been eating balanced meals at all. I think that I've labeled today as a "rest" day, I've even going to skip tonights workout. I think that this will also help my tiredness (not a real word) and I'd like to see what my garden looks like during the week in the light.
Love, Amy

I'm Back from the Beach. And I was horrible!!! Yes, I gained weight. YUCKO> but I went for a high-powered run this morning. and brought a very very ediets kinda lunch with me to work today.
Kim, hang in there in a month you'll feel settled and blissful.
$1,500 surprise bonus - Alright Maria. If you can't think of what to do with all that money you could send some my way, I'll use it for my trip to Disney World in November. Yeah right.
Stacey, I got the BFL info, thanks for thinking of me. Since I'm now part-time and am watching my pennies, I'll see if I can get it from the library.
Off to work. Wanted to check in and say hi to everyone!!!

Hi! Quiet weekend on the thread and on All Forums. We were out and about yesterday and had a great time. Went to an outdoor festival where the food was fabulous (every ethinicity you can think of), and the bands were fabulous. Have any of you ever heard of Brave Combo? They are a really good :!: Grammy-winning band that played nonstop from 9-midnight. I recommend them to anyone who has a chance to see them play. They play all over and have a website. Just wild!
Okay, so it looks like I skipped another month here. Brother. I don't want this to be a difficult transition in life, but we don't always get what we want.
I am supposed to be cleaning, but DH is taking a nap and that sounds so good! Maybe I'll clean for an hour, then rack out for an hour. Hope everyone is having the most fun ever, as summer draws to a close. Rats. I love summer. 8)

OK everyone, it is time to get a postin! Now that summer is coming to an end, I guess most of us will be back to posting! If you all keep in contact with others from e-diets, let them know we are back!
I had a great weekend. Not as exciting as Kari's but it was relaxing and great quality time with the family! It is still hard to get DD ready for school in the morning but hopefully it will be a routine. I am sooo ready for fall: football, apple cider, pumpkins, autumn colors and some cooler weather. Although I love summer, I am ready for some fall fun!
Well I better get dinner ready. Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Guys:
Ya, talk about quiet....it has been really quiet on this thread, and I too am attributing it to the end of summer and last minute vacations and such.
Lyss got a reprieve from school. She was supposed to start on Wednesday of this week, but the school isn't ready so they won't go back until September 3rd. She was very excited about that! They expanded the school this summer, and it isn't quite done, so she gets another week! Joy!
We've been doing a lot of day trips and overnighters to end the summer. What bums me is when it starts getting darker earlier. Sigh. Fall is on the way, which I do enjoy, but I'd enjoy it more if I could stick to a GOOD eating plan....Can someone please give me the motivation I need? I don't know where my mojo went? I was doing soooo very well for a good six months where I'd freak if I didn't exercise or eat right, and now I'm back to my old "I'll get on the tread tomorrow" self. What was it that had me going so strong that now I can't motivate myself? Dang.
Oh well, I'm off to snooze. Payroll tomorrow - gotta be alert for that one!
Talk to you all soon. xoMaria

Gud Morgan, Fraus, Fraulines, a Herr Tom!
Mia Maria, do not despair! We are doing a 21-day meal plan challenge (which will also help get the exercise juices flowing again). We're starting in Sept., maybe after Labor Day weekend? I'm not sure of the details, but Stacey call fill you in. I think MANY of us are in the same boat -- what HAPPENED to the ME I found and really liked! LOL So, we are going to join hands and form a human circle/chain to the weight-loss success we all enjoyed to much in the early part of this year. Let's end 2002 with the same bang we started the year!
I think summer slipped us all a mickey this year. We weren't as active on our thread, and we all sounded so busy and pulled in many directions. Add to that the chances to go on vacation with family and friends, and the lack of a decent schedule, and the results were slowly beginning to show.
I know when I'm not eating right, my physical being begins to slag. I have had to push myself to exercise, and I'm not getting my heart rate up where it should be. If I run, I can do it, but I can't run every day. (I don't want to wreck my knees, which so far seem to be just fine.) I, too, used to LOVE getting up each morning and getting in a good hour or so of exercise. My attitude and focus have stratosphered.
So, let's start firing each other up! Let's start reconnecting with each other (thanks for the prompting, Dana), posting regularly, cheering one another on and asking for help! It would be SOOOO cool if each of us could lose the max 2 lb/wk for the 3 weeks of the challenge, and we all dropped the 6 lbs. we KNOW we gained this summer! That alone would get us back on track, and in only 3 weeks, not 3 months!
Whadaya say? Go, go, go!
Love,
Kari

Hi everyone- I too have been a slacker with this thread. I hope that everyone is doing well. I know that Kimmy is busy packing and many of you are getting your children off to school. My DS doesn't start until next Wednesday..but he's ready (well he has all his supplies he's not ready)
This is my week off of the BFL program. I am continuing the exercise and WT but slacking a little with the food. Come Tuesday morning though, I'll be right there back in the grove of the BFL program and into our challenges. I'm not going crazy this week, but indulging a little where I definitely would not go. I actually had real french fries....and today we're having birthday cake for a co-worker and I stopped at the best bakery for cheesecake so I will indulge in a very small slice. I'll work it off later with a double workout of cardio and WT.
I'm also going to be training (seriously) for the next four weeks for a 10K run that I'm registered in.
I hope that everyone else is well....I really do miss you all.

Amy good luck with the 10k preparations! Good for you.
I took a body-sculpting class yesterday and I am sooooo ooooooo soooore.
But in a good way, even though I've been lifting weights, I've obviously not been working all my muscles enough. It kicked my butt. Literally!!!
My little boy went to school yesterday, 1st day of 1st grade. In the carpool line in the morning he said "you know what? next year I'm going to be a 2nd grader and I'm going to be soooo tall!"
I went for a run this morning even though I'm achey all over. It's better than sitting.
Maria, chin up girl, the end of the summer's tough on us all I gained weight, 2 vacations back to back before school starts. Give the exercise thing a jump start.
How's everyone doing?

summer's over? summer's over! yes!
eh....lost 9 pounds in the begining of the summer, gained 1, now I'm a 5'6" girl weighing....112? yeah. I need to lose weight. I wish I could run in the morning. My parents won't let me go alone and no one can bring me....gr.....well I did something with my time. I exersized by myself. It was tireing, but very fun. I'm sore all over cause of other reasons though.

 How is everyone :?:
Both my boys started school this morning - 1st grade for one, 9th grade for the other (High School!!) The high school has a Freshman as well as a JV & Varsity soccer team and not enough kids, so everyone who didn't make Varsity is on BOTH Freshman & JV teams  this means that in 6 weeks, my son has to play 28 games :? :!:
I've had a bad week, and it didn't help that I had a vacation day yesterday and DH decided to take us all to Chuck E Cheese to "celebrate" returning to school the next day. I did pretty okay - went with the "all you can eat" salad bar, which is pretty sparse.
 Okay, anyone who is interested :!: We are starting a meal plan challenge next Tuesday (Sept 3rd) and you can choose which one you want to do.
We have a 21-day challenge: you must stay on your "meal plan" or within your alloted calories every day for 21 days-in-a-row. If you mess up on day 5 or day 15, you must start counting all over at day 1 the next day. We'll see who can get to 21 in-a-row first! :D
We also have a mini-challenge: you must stay on your "meal plan" or within your alloted calories every day for 10 days-in-a-row, then you have 1 free day, then you must do 10 days-in-a-row again!
You must declare on September 3rd which challenge you are going to start, and only mini-challengers can switch to the other challenge if they are feeling strong! 8)
To keep everyone honest, and to help provide motivation  , you must journal your meals online  If anyone not on ediets wants to join one of the challenges, we'll start a separate thread on allforums for the journals.
BTW - Tom, Amy & I are starting BFL on Sept 3rd also. Anyone else care to join us?
Cara & Maria - it's great to hear from you both! You are greatly missed on ediets!

alright, I'll do it...only I'm going to school again so lunch is rather limited. i normally skip lunch so....how's that?
I'll have a cereal bar for breakfast, nothing for lunch since there's nothing good to eat, and as for dinner, i can't control what I get since my mom does the cooking and I don't know what she's going to cook. most likely rice, some sort of meat, some sort of fish and some sort of vegetables. so I'll have to work that out....my normal calorie limit is 1200 or 1000 depending what I like. tell me if it's alright.

Hi Being_Me :D ,
Seems like you're new to our group. Welcome. You mention that you are in school are you in high school? What grade are you in?
For trying to lose weight limiting yourself to 1200 calories is a good goal. It sounds like you're at a great weight and probably naturally thin at 5'6" and 112 and maintaining your weight. Going below 1200 calories and skipping lunch isn't good.
It's better to pack a lunch or slip a powerbar and a piece of fruit in your purse and take it to school if the food sucks. Have you been overweight in the past? What do you consider "fat" on you?
Take care,
Cara
being_me
08-29-2002, 11:49 AM
I was naturally thin when I was a kid...then I reached puberty.
Well for the most part, I do go below 1200 considering I don't eat breakfast now a days....partly cause I sleep in which is very much unlike me. last year, I skipped lunch every day...including breakfast having to fun out of the house to catch my trasportation.
"fat" on me? well naturally my waist area. that and my butt.
I'm not in high school yet, though I do plan to be next year if I grauduate, which I probably will considering I'm planning on working hard and getting atleast a 95 average opposed to a 92 average.
well see ya soon!

Hi Me.
I guess what I meant by "fat" was: at what weight do you think you are fat? What's the highest weight you've been.
Yea, puberty will make you gain weight. But in cool places. You're becoming a woman. That's exciting. Are you in Junior High?

Hi Kids:
How's everyone? Just checking in to say hi on this rainy Thursday. Yes, I'm home on a Thursday....I think I told you that Lyss's school starting was postponed a week due to construction and I was tapped for sitters, so here we are.....
Darling Stacey, I will do the mini challenge of 10 days. I have to start off in small parts, dont'cha know? HA HA. I noticed that I'm back to receiving postings from ediets, but like I said before, when I go to click on the message, my flag just sits there forever and doesn't transfer me to the site, so to not waste your time, tho I greatly appreciate it, you don't have to cc me on the postings. I just hope that everyone will post here so I can catch up....
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and see how everyone is. It's been awfully quiet on this thread, maybe everyone is getting ready for the long weekend and kids are back at school so it's hectic - I know the feeling...

Hello friends!
Everyone thinks we should post more and I agree, yet here I am taking days to post again, UGH!!!
Summary of things here; my job still stinks, it’s terribly slow, my workouts continue to get better, my cardio has bumped up quite a bit and I have some real definitely in my arms and legs, even some in my abs! Food habits are much better, I shopped and planned meals this week and I can feel the weight coming off. I had definitely gotten lazy and put on a few pounds too easily. My mom is doing really well, building her own life (playing on 4 softball teams, taking tap lessons, working out at “Curves”, and spending time with her friends). My friend who lost her baby is also doing really well, she and her husband are healing better than I could’ve imagined.
So . . .
Cara – Sounds like you had fun at the beach. You can’t kill yourself for going overboard on vacations, I just don’t think it’s fair. As long as you get yourself on track when you get back home!
Maria – Nice work with the bonus!!! I’m off BC because we want to start “trying” by next summer. Without going into major details, I’ve had a hard time coming off BC in the past and haven’t ovulated in over a year. We figure I needed to get off (so to speak) well before, because we most likely will have a tough time getting pregnant since I’ve never ovulated regularly. Make sense?
Kathryn – Did you end up getting the BFL book? Are you going to do that as well?
Tom – Did you have a blast doing your play? Was that last week or when, I can’t remember when I chatted with you??? :?
Kari – Nice chatting with you yesterday, it had been too long! You are so much fun :D I’m so excited to hear how the new job goes.
Amy – see my response to Maria above for the BC answer. I know what you mean about Carbo overload, why do our bodies sometimes crave carbs so much?
Dana – I’m with you on the excitement for fall. I do love the summer, but in August, I get that great Halloween feeling in my bones and I look forward to the change. Unfortunately the foliage isn’t as beautiful here as in many parts of the country, I guess because the climate doesn’t change enough??
Kim – Looking forward to hearing how the move went. Hope you’re having a blast at your sister’s!
Stacey – The challenge sounds fabulous! I personally know I have something going on every weekend in September that won’t allow me to do it, however, I’ll be doing it on my own every day I can! 8)
Being_Me – I have a lot to say to you, not sure where to start! The first thing I have to tell you is that skipping meals is the absolute worst thing you could do for yourself. I am 28 and I can tell you that in high school I tried skipping meals. Problem is, it makes your body hold on whatever you do eat for the other meals. It also ruins your metabolism and you’ll have weight problems later. You are very thin for 5’6”, I’m sure you’re beautiful and probably shouldn’t be trying to lose weight. Make sense??? You must remember that this group of women is twice your age, or even more, many of the ladies here have had kids and are just trying to get back into a healthy lifestyle. I hope you’ll realize it’s about health and feeling well!!!
Too much for one post . . . sorry gang!

I'm still here! It has been a whirlwind of activity around here, so I'll be glad to start my new job so I can relax a bit! I was out of town all day again today, and we'll be gone for the Labor Day weekend, too.
I really just glanced at the thread, so I don't think I'll be able to respond to each person. We don't have the luxury of clicking back and forth on this thread. No matter. I like All Forums.
being_me, what fun to have you join us! You have a lot of big sisters/moms here who would enjoy the company of a younger person. We have all sorts of information to help you as you enter your high school years, so that you can get the most out of your teen-age years. Do you like the "buff" look that so many young women have now? I have learned so much about how to get that look for me, and in the meantime I have also started feeling so good every day! I hope you can do this, too! Please come back and post with us any time.
I need to go talk to my husband. We'd like to catch up on our days. More later.
Much love,
Kari
