Any suggestions?

I usually have something on the go, but haven't seen anything to spark my interest lately. I've been kinda dark and moody lately so something along those lines would be appropriate. I like scary or scientific but am open to anything really......

Help?

The LOTR series is always good for a re-read...Stephen King, perhaps, to fit your mood, or if you want to break out of this mood, try the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

There is an interesting website that chooses "good match" books for you based on some categories you can select to match your mood.

Dio that's so cool, thanks.

BV, you know I never got into the gunslinger books, maybe that is something I could go back to. At least I know there is lots of the to keep me occupied for awhile. It's that time of year to be vegging by the lake.......need books.

Try the Thomas Covenant Series..... Good books about a man named Thomas Covenant an author with leperosy. He has episodes that place him in another time and place. It is a fnatasy book series that holds a place in my heart. They are well written and held together by the knowledge that we the readers have that Covenant is a hated man here but revered in the other land and time.

The first is called Lord Fouls Bane.... Author Stephen R. Donaldson

It has been a very long time since I read Lord Foul's Bane. I thoroughly enjoyed it. More so than those that followed.

It's a book with a lot of short stories by famous Science Fiction authors. The stories are mostly quick, and not too deep; but there are a few that really reach down and play with your head.

I would recommend reading any book by Jim Harrison (not Morrison !). He's probably one of the best living american writers.

I'm a Patricia Cornwell fan so I would recommend any of her books. The Kay Scarpetta series is my all time favorite reads. If you like crime suspense stuff.

Not sure if you have read Dan Brown, but all of his books are great. He's the guy who wrote the Da Vinci code, but all of his books are good reads. Not really dark, but very good. I also just started reading the LOTR books for the first time.

I got up to the Tom Bombadill part of LOTR and couldn't read any further. That guy is one scary singing dude. :) Currently being pressured into reading Longitude (Dava Sobel). I'd recommend anything by Alastair Reynolds: http://members.tripod.com/~voxish/Home.html
