Air America is losing money hand over fist. It is reported that they cant sell ads, or pick up any additional markets.
15 affiliates compared to Limbaughs 600+ and Hannity's 430+
With these numbers I am not surprised that Armed Forces Radio wont carry their signal.
Also is it legal to be supported by a political party at the tune of 25 mil every 3 months? I am not sure....
Any one know?

I listen to Air America all the time, and they already said that the Republicans lie all the time, and say they are going bankrupt, and that they will be “shutting down”. All accusations were deemed false on the show, as I heard today. The fact remains, a thread was created, that said Air America was losing money, and that it was going to be shut down within a few weeks. That didn’t happen. And I doubt it will happen now.

Explain why LA and Chicago dumped them? If they dont get Arbitron ratings then you dont have a show. It is about money not a right to free speech. The air is free to you and me, but not the broadcasters.
I would say since I saw the news on CNN on hour ago that it might be true. How can you support a national network with 15 and dropping affiliate stations?

AirAmerica is still on air because the people doing it are working pro-bono. I would not say that just because they are on air means any big triumph...and to deny the fact they are having some serious problems is wrong. At some point the influx of funding will dry up and they will have to subsist on whatever revenue they can if they can.
My feeling is that AirAmerica will stay afloat till after the election and then cave. They will either proclaim themselves the victor for having helped defeat Bush and a librul radio network is no longer needed or they will fold and slink away with little to no fanfare if Bush wins.

Air America is on over 70 stations nationwide. They have increased 3 million listeners in the last year. They are also one of the fastest growing stations in the U.S. Randi Rhodes has as many listeners or more than Rush and Hannity.....Frank:hitout:

Rush and Hannity are the most listened to people on radio, Rush coming in first. I don't get how they can be on the verge of bankrupt.

Bierut,
I can't find your link, it has been removed.
I could point out that Air America somehow wound up taking money, a lot of it, from a kids charity group in New York City and has yet to pay it back.
I was also going to point out that Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham both have fans that like their shows to the point that they are willing to pay to have access to them. There's "Rush 24/7" and "Laura 365." Also, Rush refuses to podcast his shows for free. He doesn't have to. But I went to alternativeradio.org and they are also selling mp-3s of their shows. I wonder how well they are doing?

I fully believe it.
The herd in America --collectively-- is far too stupid to grasp the progressive message of a liberal voice coming thru the airwaves.
Air America has already lasted longer than I thought it would, given the mentality of the average dittohead imbecile in this country.

My guess is that you ---possessing the same mindset as a vast segment of the Rightwing in America--- think anyone who opposes the staus quo and speaks out for justice or human rights needs to have their "ass kicked" so they will be silent.

since when does having a personal vendetta against a president and hatred of an entire religion and political party constitute speaking out for "justice" and "human rights"???

LMAO.
My mother used to say, "If one person tells you you're growing a tail, you can tell 'em to fuck off, but if two or more say it - perhaps you should find a mirror and check for yourself."

I don't know where you got this truly abysmal joke, OD, but quite frankly, it sucks. I'm not saying that because I'm a Limbaugh fan (actually, I think he's an arrogant cock who occasionally makes a decent point, but I digress...); I'm saying it because it's a bad joke, period. Do yourself a favor and lose it before someone starts to think you’re on mental par with the liberal retard who wrote it.

That's your opinion, one I would expect of someone of your nature. However, regardless of what you think, I found it funny. And I was waiting for the time in which, a Republican, would comment on it. And now that time has come and the joke has served its purpose. To make a liberal laugh and to piss off a republican. Now, lets start a flame war about it so I can, yet again, get what I want.

Rush is stoopid entertainment. People would rather be entertained than to get some real information.
The fact that Rush is "tops" only supports the notion that america is full of ignorant, racist, homophobic, hypocrites. His ratings confirm it.

I guess when you use "big words" it's OK to call people names. I fI call someone an asshole I am immature and dumb, yet this guy does the same thing and he is insightful and observant.
