4 hours this morning. 3 hours tonight. 3 hours Wednesday. Excessive? Acceptable? Warranted?

And how about those knucleheads trying to compare that moron Bush to Reagan? Why, it's Righty Fox News, of course!

Acceptable? Are you saying it's morally wrong to have so much coverage of the funeral?

It wasn't the most scintillating TV I've ever seen. The fact that they've said all there is to say never seems to inspire them to cut their coverage short.

somehow I feel like all this Reagan stuff is a bit excessive. he was a presdient, and it's sad, but it has been a week and I think the country can move on. I alos have a feeling that if a democratic presdient had died that it wouldn't have been such big deal.

I think it's more the personality rather than the party. I doubt either Bush will get quite the obsessive coverage we've had for Reagan. But you're right that there aren't any democratic presidents alive at the moment that will get the same treatment, mostly because they're either boring or in the case of Clinton, somewhat flawed.

We are a country that is into ceremony and we havent had a Presidential State funeral since 1973 and LBJ.
Nixons family chose not to go through it.

I agree that it is on way to much but at the same time maybe we can use the time to breath and heal a little.
Take our minds off of Iraq for a bit and see that we are mortal. Maybe then we can put our lives into perspective or at least rearrainge our priorities and make room for what is truly important.
A little humility goes a long way.

If your program was put aside for it and you don't give a damn about the funeral, then you definitely have a good reason to feel disgusted. In my case, I never watch a set program and not much TV to start with anyway, so this coverage (which I didn't bother watching even a minute of) didn't bother me at all. They could probably keep re-run it for a month and I still wouldn't be affected.

I doubt that anyone who missed their shows this week because of the Reagan funeral coverage is really down about missing it. it's only one show or 5 shows, they'll be on again later in the year....we have 51 other weeks to show the reruns.

As for coverage, I'm glad that they did as much as they did...I agree with Lionel that it may not have been the most interesting spot of broadcasting, but it was a moment that only comes around once in a great while.

If anyone seriously had a problem with the funeral coverage, and just HAD to watch TV, there were plenty of other choices.

Heck, Cartoon Network hardly mentioned it at all!
