Class 13 or 14 welder glass, about 6 dollars will provide enough protection against the sun or even two pieces of cardboard. Place a small hole in one and hold it in frot of the other, line up the sun until you can see it. If you want to place a piece of white paper on the back piece.
Yes I am going to watch it, watched my first total eclipse in 1972, it was awesome. I am sure it 72 but I could be off.
I try not to miss any celestial shows. Even though the return of Haleys Comet was a huge let down. Khoutek was better.

I was majorly bummed by Halley's Comet...I'd been looking forward to it since I was a kid...:(

I watched it at school...
It was very interesting, but I could watch it only for a short time! :)

Beyond bummed, I remember saying that 1987 was along way off and that I would be real old when it came back..... LOL I guess I first learned of Halleys Comet in 68 or 69......... But yes it was depressing.
The Venus Transit was not real visible from where I live and so again I have been let down. Damn celestial events. :p
