This is a awesome personal video recorder, it can hold over 300 hours of digital video, and can AUTOMATICALLY skip commercials! Awesome.. If I was rich I would have one of these, they range from 1,000-2,000$ and the company is currently being sued by about 3 major networks like NBC, Disney, and some other one because of the automatic commercial skip features.

This unit also lets you network it and share/transfer videos over a homenetwork and the internet...

I think that is awesome....Well TIVO is just like that for satalite...I hate commercials specially if you pay 60 bucks a month for Satalite....or cable I mean whats the point of no commercials

Tivo is nice, its more of a regular person product, tivo doesnt automatically skip commmercials, it only stores about 30 hours, and it doesn't let you transfer over ethernet. But, it still has some nice features like pause and fast foward tv...

I hate commercials!

I hate hate hate them. Public TV I can see and understand that, but not on Satalite or Cable TV, I mean you pay for it....

Its like this comercial free radio, I think its going to be a big hit, once the price of the equipment will come down to may 200, my brother has a radio with it in he got it for 309 like 3 months ago, but the stations werent out here yet so.

Satalite companies make mme mad, I am watching a movie on TNT, and it gets to the good part, BOOM commercial. the nerve of some people you know. I pay good money to see TV. :finger:

The ReplayTV 4000 series actually has 4 models:

RTV4040 Approximately 40 hours of recording time $ 699.00
RTV4080 Approximately 80 hours of recording time $ 999.00
RTV4160 Approximately 160 hours of recording time $1,499.00
RTV4320 Approximately 320 hours of recording time $1,999.00

The advantage of ReplayTV over TiVo is there is no monthly subscription fee for the program guides -- TiVo costs $9.95 per month.

They are a little expensive right now... DVD copying will be cool.. I think big video will do it's best at preventing it, but I bet we'll be using dvd players like vcr one day.. Who wants media they cant record and copy stuff. I dont want a company with that much control over me; and they'll see that from many people.

Well say someone can not copy something and they will do it...Tell someone that it can not be done, and it will. Specially in ELECTRONICS. I have seen people do amazing things. And I will defintly buy one of this things when the prices drops...

I saw one of the above machines in a million dollar home on TV, and they are like when I watch TV, I watch TV not the damn commercials...

LOL, I agree

Everyone wants to advertise, and I understand, but I can't stand how some companies think if they bug the crap out of you you will buy their product! Banner ads are bad, but when you have to control-alt-delete out of them because they take away the close button that pisses me off.. SPAM is the most agrivating: those idiots say "we're only using our right to freedom of speach" well people have a right to ignore also; and if they're so sure some people wan't to read thier ad they can include AD: or ADV: in the title of their message, not use confusing titles and from: addresses to trick people into opening their spam. Billboards, faxs, telemarketers, banner ads, popups, etc are enough.. Now they are talking about these full screen ads getting more popular at places like yahoo and others.. I don't use yahoo anymore obecause google.com has better results and fewer ads; only text ads based on your search which in many times are actually helpful; if someone is willing to pay money to be displayed in a search their site probably has something I want to see, because if it doesnt no one will click it! I start rambling about advertisments... Companies like Pepsi is also pissing me off! From now on it's Coke Please for me...

Well I have to say the pepsi commercials. I am sick of them. Pepsi supports gun control and anything Anti-gun. so I do not buy them at all, all thought I love Red Mt. Dew.

I think all Americans should be able to have guns, contrary to pepsi and some democrats beliefs.. I agree with some age restrictions and safety precautions; but not limits on the amount of guns you can own, when you can buy them, etc.. If you want to debate this though, you should start a new thread in the political section.

The definition to Gun Control is this-
The ability to hit your target.
