Have always been a great basketball fan and have heard the question asked many times who is the Greatest Basketball player of all time ? In my book there is only one former player big enough to wear that mantle, the "Big Dipper" Wilt Chamberlian.I guess untill someone comes along with the numbers that Chamberlian had and a personal game high in the pro ranks of 100 points he'll hold the top spot .

Gee this debate could go on forever. Bill Russell had the capcity to bring the best out of teammates. Bob Cousy the best ball handler. Michael Jordan well his record speaks for itself. I dont know, I could probably lean towards Michael at this time. But this debate could simply go on and on.:)

Michael Jordan. You can't win three championships straight, go retire for a year and a half, come back at age 35, and win three more straight. Also, he plays a beautiful kind of basketball making his game more fun to watch.

I'm glad someone put up a topic on basketball. Everyone here constantly talks about only baseball, which I really don't like.

Michael Jordan is very hard to beat, since my last statement no one has come to mind to replace him in that capacity. Furthermore, he was not a pivot man he played the backcourt/forecourt. Very fitting indeed.:)

How about this topic as an after thought. Who would rate as the best basketball player of all time and include not only his on court career but also the front office. Well here is my nominee, let's try Jerry West from West Virginia (my home state, ta da). Hall of Fame as a player and builder of the Los Angeles Lakers string of champions. Just food for tought.

That definitely takes Jordan out of the running.

The best baller of all time has to be Wilt Chaimberlain...he has done it all. Of course I give credit to MJ a lot...he is one of my favorite players of all time...but I think Chaimberlain is better.
