It's no prejudice that Americans are not interested in soccer, isn't it?

I just wanted to know whether anyone of you watches the championship, ... at least the matches of your team.

Hmm... Although I'm not a great soccer fan it's kind of scary to see no single word about soccer in this forum :D

I'm from the UK which is, of course, soccer (football) mad. I have been watching the US team with interest and I have to say I am impressed with the way they play (Poland game excluded!). Has the game started to become more popular in the US since the 94 World Cup?

I played Soccer in High School my freshman year. I think soccer is a very interesting sport which is growing all over the world.

I don't see soccer becoming large in the United State anytime soon. When I see soccer on in the United States they can barely get enough persons to fill up one section.

I see it growing amongst younger children but the adults hardly watch it. I think as years progress soccer will become bigger and bigger as it already has.

I know when driving in the suberbs I see atleast one child kicking a soccer ball.

I work with a guy from Michigan who knows very little about the game but since the World Cup started his interest has grown (particulary as the US are doing well). I think that this type of exposure to people in the States will help the sport to grow there.

What I can't work out is why the US is doing so well at the moment. Individually the players aren't that good (compared to other countries) but collectively they seem strong.

well......the first time since 1930, the US team beat Mexico.....perhaps maybe this would make soccer bigger in the US

..And now you go! =p =p

But it was a very good and hard match. The "US boys" played incredibly well.

Neg, you're right - the US played very well. I thought the Germans had a fair bit of luck but then that's what you need to win the World Cup. I predicted them to win it from the start and I still believe they will.

Germany vs Brazil

I hope Germany win because as a European I want a European team to win! All my friends think I'm completely mad though... (I'm English)

The best team won and only another 4 years to wait for the next soccer extravaganza.

I went to a few of the games here in Japan - well organised as you might expect but not quite the atmosphere of an English Premier League game. Maybe Korea would have been better

Roll on Germany 2006....
