CNN is reporting: Former hostage Thomas Hamill says photos of U.S. soldiers abusing Iraqis held in a Baghdad prison affected the way he was treated in the last days before he escaped.
He said he scaled back the celebration of his return home so he wouldn't anger captors of Americans still being held.
It's only just begun. Here's a reminder of what TVNewsLies.org predicted when the photos first came out. It's a warning that is very ominous.....

With still more photos that might be published it will probably get worse. A most unfortunate state of affairs.

I think this is the beginning of the end. Of course this is what the peace movement predicted. We knew the region. We understood the lies. So many are dead and so many will die....

So far the photo's have been tame in comparison to what is supposedly about to come out
- Male US soldiers having sex with each other
- US soldiers mudering Iraqi's
- US soldiers raping Iraqi women
- Brutal beatings
- Sex with young Iraqi boys
It's hard to imagine the disaster this will be if one or two photo's come out every day or two for the next 6 months. There are apparently hundreds of photo's out there.
This is what Iraq will be remembered for - it will not only bring down Rummy - it will destroy Bush & destroy the image of the US for decades to come.
It is a very very sad story
Yes Drew, I am afraid that no matter what we do the photos cannot be called back. They will surface from time to time when an example of America is needed.
The harm that these soldiers did to America is unforgivable.
Borders on treason because of the consequences it can have on soldiers on patrol, prisoners of the Arabs and the war effort.
Could be that the firing squad should be considered. :(

So much for trying to fix our current problems in the area when we've got this going on...

Could be that the firing squad should be considered. While I don't argue the fact that what these handful of soldiers did was undeniably, unquestionably wrong, do you really feel that the firing squad is the answer? I ask you, if you were stationed in Iraq for the past year, fearing for your life day after day, witnessing such things as car bombs, militia attacks, corpse dragging, your friends dying beside you and the countless other atrocities that are going on...what would keep you sane? When would you 'snap'?
While, I agree that their acts will contribute to the demise of other US soldiers and those soldiers should pay for their acts (including the top military brass like Karpinski, et al!) , but subject them to a firing squad? I have a hard time swallowing that one. :(

The first Court Martial of one of the soldiers who took the photos will be held later this month. The maximum sentence is ONE YEAR in PRISON....and/or a reprimand and dismissal from the service.
Hard to believe. but true....

The pentagon is probably worried to death about the trial process. These soldiers are getting the sharp end of the stick - they are kids most of them.

drew you drama queen, get a grip. the way you talk we might as well fold up old gloy and put out the UN flag, or the iraqi flag. this is not the greatest scandal ever, as much as you try to make it so, it is not. it was a bad thing, and people should be punished, but this fake outrage is getting sickening. get over it , it happened, war is hell.

I really don't think this would be worse than what we've seen so far, and I'm not sure why you include pictures of two men having sex, with pictures of rape, muder, and pedophilia.

Trav, face it, this is a BIG scandal, and it is going to get bigger. Yes it was a bad thing and NO the outrage you are hearing and reading is NOT fake outrage. In case you haven't figured it out yet, people are pissed off.

Pissed off? Maybe... They should be marching in the street, demanding heads.
But, remember that the Moslem world has been painted over and over as EVIL.....and somewhere, in much of the American psyche there is a little voice suggesting that maybe, just maybe the prisoners are not really worthy of any humane treatment.
