I was wondering if any of you have heard of any problems arising with the Intel Centrino processors. I'm running a 1400 Mhz Pm on a Dell Latitude D600 with 512 RAM and Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1.
The reason I ask is because I have been experiencing a substantial drop in performance. For about two months I had been binging on online play of Halo for hours, then one day it started to lag. Soon afterward I noticed that on startup (or when bringing it out of screen saver), when it played that windows tune, it would drag and cut out in the middle. Around the same time, I noticed that Programs took awhile to load as well, especially Internet Explorer. Now I've noticed that when I click links, there seems to be a delay between when I click, and when the page starts to load.
I am very aware that spyware could be the culprit, but I've run Norton and Adaware.. I've been forced to conclude that it is a hardward problem, hence my original question. It also may be helpful to know that while playing Halo, my computer would get very hot and this computer is about 1 year old. ANY advice at all would be helpful.
